Good value cod and chips, with tea, at £6.20 each. Generous helpings, crispy batter and "more-ish" chips. Basic but adequate seating area. Cheerful staff who were not fazed when we requested that our tea should be served after we'd finished the fish and chips.

Used this place twice whilst on holiday in August. Ate in on the first visit and to say the staff were rude is an understatement! Pen tapping on the counter and staring whilst we were viewing the menu, they clearly only expect people to order fish & chips?! Had a takeaway on our second week (I know, why go again? But they really do have market covered for fish & chips in the area) and waited an hour and fifteen minutes to get served. Then, because we had a large order (8 portions of fish &chips), we had to wait a further 25 minutes for our order to be put together. Apparently, they only fry 6 pieces of fish at a time but managed to serve many people in the queue behind whilst waiting for 8 to be ready at the same time? Great food when you get it, but sadly they have no concept of customer service.

Despite the queue I would recommend a dinner from this chip shop as the staff were very friendly and chips were really tasty and not too greasy (a must for me).
However the scampi was very watery which was a bit disconcerting and the mushy peas were quite tasteless too.
Yet for the standard 'fish and chips' this place is definitely adequate
