“Lovely house, beautiful location”
Reviewed September 11, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We had a lovely stay. The house was well equipped and the perfect size for 5 adults , 3 children and dog ! The annexe was a perfect retreat for the grandparents to escape and the location was great.
Instow is a lovely village with friendly locals and a great dog friendly beach. The deli in Instow was a big hit as were the locally made Hockings ice creams.
The information pack left by the householders was really useful and the personal touch helped us greatly in deciding where to go . The owners couldn't have been more helpful. We all loved it.

We are so pleased you had a lovely time & enjoyed staying at Rosemary Cottage. John's Deli can be a godsend if you just need that bottle of milk or loaf of bread on a Sunday morning & cant be bothered to queue/drive to Tesco's. They also do fantastic rolls if you want to grab a bite to eat on the beach. Totally with you on Hockings ice cream, which you can even buy in big tubs now! You are very welcome back any time. Best wishes.

“Excellent for Large Family”
Reviewed September 4, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Rented Rosemary Cottage for a week in August for 6 adults, two small children and dog. This was an ideal cottage for this size of group as there were enough bedrooms for all of us, with the grandparents using the separate annex. Kitchen was very well equipped and the dining and sitting rooms big enough for all. Outside patio is enclosed and equipped with barbecue, table and chairs and when the weather permitted we sat outside to eat. Additionally there is an enclosed garden with lawns and shrubs which was very pleasant with lovely views. We liked the short walk to the local pub and enjoyed the food and drink and friendly atmosphere. In the locality the beach at Instow is great for children. We used the bus service from the main road to go to Westward Ho! (short journey) as the parking there is difficult

Thank you so much for the lovely review - we are delighted you had a super stay with us at Rosemary Cottage. We are really lucky to be in such a wonderfully quintessential Devon village so close to the great beaches, but far enough away to enjoy the peace of the Devon countryside! You are welcome back any time.

“Lovely cottage, perfect location and ideal for families with children.”
Reviewed August 20, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Friendly and helpful service with additional tips on where to go on 'iffy' days. Clean and comfortable cottage with all the comforts of home, perfect for our group of 4 adults and 3 children. The annexe is great additional accommodation, with the patio area and garden safe for children to play. A tip for families with young children, a baby gate is a must for the top of the stairs. We took 2 and found the other to be useful between the lounge and kitchen. We used the travel cot supplied and were pleased to find it was large and sturdy enough for our 18 month old who slept very comfortably in it. A thoughtful extra of buckets, spades, games and books delighted the children. An additional feature is the off street parking, as few cottages can offer this. There is space for 2 cars with room for an additional car in the good sized garage. Overall, we were all very impressed with Rosemary Cottage and hope to return to visit all the places we didn't have time to see this holiday.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review of Rosemary Cottage. We believe the little things really count when you are staying away from home - so the games, puzzles, Xbox, books, buckets and spades and so on are just as important as a comfy bed! Rosemary Cottage was our holiday home for many years, where we've spent lots of wet & windy days with our own children in the past wondering what to do - so very happy to pass on our local tips. We note the point about stair gates, and will invest in some now to be put up as & when needed. Thanks again for the lovely feedback - it makes it all worthwhile. We look forward very much to the opportunity of welcoming you back soon.

Best wishes
Tony & Andrea.

“Lovely, large comfy clean property”
Reviewed August 5, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Visited Rosemary Cottage with extended family, six adults (including two elderly grandparents) three children and our dog, Lola. Grandparents enjoyed the privacy and comfort of the annex. Good sized, well equipped rooms on both floors but kids feel TV is in need of replacement, a little temperamental but happy with the Wi-Fi! Good location, nice walk along the Tarka Trail(once you get to the main road) to Instow, with a lovely dog friendly beach. Westleigh Inn does tasty pub grub with very large portions but service a little slow at busy times. Many good dog friendly surfing beaches close by including Bude, Woolacombe and Saunton Sands. A most enjoyable holiday.

Just back from a week at the lovely Rosemary Cottage. O. ur group consisted of 5 adults and 5 children 9 years and under. The cottage is comfortably furnished - the only drawback was the carpets were beige which was a bit of a nightmare with the children. The kitchen is well kitted out with all you could ever need. Patio area to the rear with lovely gardens. The village itself is very quaint with a lovely pub serving good food and a great beer garden with a play area. Instow itself is walkable with a few lovely eating places our favourite was the Instow Arms. Plenty of supermarkets nearby and lots to do with the children. A great time was had by all!!

Thank you so much for your very kind words. As you know, this is our first year renting out what was our Family holiday home for many years now. Our kids always loved Westleigh & North Devon in general (alas they would now prefer to go abroad with their friends!) and its so nice to hear that the next generation have also fallen for Rosemary Cottage & Westleigh. We picked the carpets a few years ago, when this was just an occasional retreat for us during school holidays, and now plan to install something more fitting a higher throughput - perhaps solid wood we think - at some point this Winter. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us & you are welcome back any time.
Best wishes - Tony & Andrea.
