My wife and I stayed here for the bank holiday weekend. It coincided with the Exmouth Carnival week so plenty going on.
The hotel is not 5 star but comfortable. We had a lovely little room on the 3rd (top) floor with a sea view at no extra cost. A lift serves all floors but only holds 3 with cases. The dining room is at basement level, it is spacious with excellent service from a lovely friendly staff. Food is wholesome if not plentiful. Enough for the older clientele on our coach trip.
There was excellent entertainment on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed.

Room Tip: Front rooms face the sea, rear rooms overlook a small garden area.

Stayed as part of a coach party and the value was excellent, especially the food in the restaurant which was first class - the chef and team produced excellent meals which were served efficiently by the lovely staff. The Hotel bar was a pleasant place with a dance floor and good entertainment some nights. The bedroom was ideal for our needs - clean - good room service - the only down side was the shower which being connected to the main hot and cold water taps changed temperature very quickly when a neighbour turned on their taps.
Overall - An excellent hotel - good staff - good food - good location with good views over the sea front and beyond.
Exmouth is a lovely town in great location I would recommend a holiday in Exmouth with a stay at The Ashton Court Hotel. - Enjoy -

Room Tip: If you want a room with a sea view - request at time of booking. There is an excellent lift inside t...

Just spent three nights at the ashton court hotel. We were made very welcome by the manager Nick. The hotel was nicely decorated and we had a very comfortable room with a marvelous view over the estuary. The food although not a massive choice was good and we enjoyed all our meals. On Friday and Sunday we were entertained by singers who had us up on the floor dancing. Saturday night our versatile Nick gave us an evening of bing, quiz and jokes! The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel clean and comfortable and last but not least praise and a big thank you to Nick who went out of his way to make sure everyone was happy and problem free. We had problem with television but it was dealt with and rectified promptly. We will be returning.

As with most UK seaside hotel Aston court is dated as I'm sure we would all agree on. But saying that Aston court is clean and tidy but now they have an ace up there sleeves and that would be nick the new manager who gives you such great service and full confidence in the hotel nothing seems to much trouble he gives you such a warm welcome makes you feel at home. But he also as support of great staff and a fantastic chef breakfast was brilliant evening meals great. I would like to wish nick all the best for the future and hope he continues the great work and I'm sure the hotel future will be great. So I would like to personally thank you nick we will be back soon Regards Dave And Linda Wisbech

This hotel is in a great location and is very cheap so is value for money. We booked half board and when we arrived were given a lovely sea view room. The negatives are that the bedding, carpets and decor are extremely tired, and the shower/bath taps were not working properly. The mealtimes are very strict e.g 7 pm sharp for dinner and 8.30 am sharp for breakfast we arrived 20 mins late for dinner the first night due to the misleading notice in the room that stated incorrectly that dinner was between 7p and 8pm and it was like the staff were doing us a favour finding us something to eat, the food arrived pork and potatoes with no veg! (this set up is to suit the management not the customer)We actually dined out the second evening as the food wasn't worth rushing back for. Apart from this the staff are very helpful. We stayed out of season so the customers were mainly older generation. On balance I would not stay here again. Its cheap and cheerful you get what you pay for, I would prefer to pay a bit more and have better facilities.
