Very nice clean hotel, stayed in an apartment within the hotel, slightly old fashioned but clean and housekeeping were in every day. Friendly helpful staff and the restaurant serves very nice food at a price in keeping with other restaurants. I did not get around to using the facilities ie swimming pool, gym etc but what I saw looked very nice. Would definitely come back here again as the price was very reasonable, a special deal. All in all Exmouth is a very pretty place.

classed as 4 star more like 2 star, requires updating very drab furnishings something out of the 60's/70's. Bed very uncomfortable had to ask reception for a mattress topper as after first night woke up with backache. Swimming pool and leisure complex dirty. Chose this Hotel as offered indoor pool which was very small and to be honest not all inspiring as was the hot tub. Perhaps the Hotel inspector should make an appearance. Evening meal al la carte was luke warm and not interesting at all. Would I stay here again NO apparently a premier inn is due to be built in Exmouth within next few months so the Devoncourt will have to get their act together.
Sheets and blankets on bed, hygienic ? do not think so also sheets did not fit the bed.
On a positive note the staff were accommodating but that is all I can say.

Room Tip: Do not have room 18 residents smoking outside room.

This hotel is classed as a four star, and I have stayed at many 4 star hotels around the world, this hotel is out of step with modern 4 star hotels. In our bathroom there were no free small botels of shampoo etc only 2 small bars of soap both previously used! Furthermore I have never seen a 4 star hotel with multiple electric plugs in an adapter! No flat screen TV only the old style big box.
It did have nice views and a nice restaurant but the hotel needs a thorough overhall to bring it into the 21st Century! Also no duvets only the old fashioned (and worn) blankets.

Room Tip: just choose another hotel.

Scrupulously clean and very comfortable two bedroom flat within the dated but well kept hotel. Very well equipped for four but could take six. Small very adequately equipped kitchen, seaview balcony, free wifi, TV/DVD and free use of the small gym, jacuzzi and warm swimming pool. Sauna and steam room weren't very hot. Staff very friendly and efficient. Ideal for a small family reunion such as ours and good value for a winter weekend.

Room Tip: Sea view if possible

I was allocated a large room overlooking the sea with kitchen facilities and a balcony.

As with some of the previous reviews, the place could do with a refurb but the retro seaside hotel feel was a reminder of my 1970's hols in Devon - so not a big issue.

The room was clean. well laid out comfortable. The staff on check in/out were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was OK, although the croissant I selected had seen better days.

Not completely inspiring but I can certainly recommend the Devoncourt for a business stopover.

We attended a party for an 80 year old. His daughter's arranged it and there were 30 of us sitting down in the restaurant. We had chosen our meal from the menu in advance and given our names. The staff excellently sorted which meals went where - no problem. The meal was excellent. The hotel is four star and really well run.Staff were professional and friendly. We stayed over for the night and our room - 104 - had a balcony and overlooked the lovely gardens and the sea. The bathroom was large and my only criticism is that there was no room for putting toilet bags etc. Hotel - please note! Lovely lounge area and nice and warm everywhere too. There is a swimming pool and gym and the whole Hotel has a very nice 'feel' to it. We will visit again in the summer for a Devon tea and scones!

Room Tip: I don't know if all rooms have a balcony and sea facing but we were not charged more for the roo...

I was in a single room, which had a double bed and was fine. The cost was very reasonable. However, in the bathroom, there were 2 bars of soap - one on the bath and one on the basin, both of which had been well used by the previous occupant. I turned on the bath tap and was drenched as the tap had been left on the shower setting and the shower head had been left pointing out of the bath straight towards me! I then had to fight my way through the spray to turn it off .My hair and my clothes were soaked, as was the floor. When I told the receptionist the next day, she did apologise, but in a rather unconvincing way. The hotel is very dated and a bit of a throwback to the 60s. I won't try it again.....
