Owner description: Devon's multi-award-winning all-weather day out for the whole family! You can ride on the deer train or take a goat for a walk! Get up close to the animals in the pet centre or burn off some energy in one of the three different soft play areas, Pirate Ship Adventure or outdoor adventure playground. There's also a museum of farming and an indoor Victorian Street, featuring a dairy, cottage & pub! The vintage & classic car collection features vehicles that have appeared in Downton Abbey, Mr Selfridge & Parade's End. Then there's the steam engines and Reg Imray motorcycle collection. To top it all off there are daily ferret, lamb or duck racing shows and the excellent Hawkridge Bird of Prey flying display. Refuel at Farmer Lee's Food Barn restaurant or grab some local food to go from the Pasty Shack! With so much to see, come rain or shine, can you do it all in a day?!

Great if you are into farm animals and play areas. Make sure you pre-book the train to feed deer when you first arrive at park, as it only ran twice and was full. Well worth the experience to see deer and llama so close. Lack of refreshments by indoor play area, but good cafe with quick service close by. Kids had a great day even though it was cold. Indoor parts are still very open, so wrap up warm!

We visited with 2 young children in freezing conditions just before Easter.
Despite having been in the area numerous times we have never been before - mostly because a lot of the attractions just didn't appeal. And I wish we hadn't bothered.

The new entrance is very modern - but looks a bit like a garden centre. Unfortunately its the only part of the park that has been modernised.

The first exhibit hall is a very dated mish-mash of models, old machinery and old clothes and household items. It held my childrens attention briefly but looks incredibly tired and is confusing with items from different era's togther, and some rather grim models.

Inside the park a lot of the attractions are outside or in barns - which due to he extreme cold perhaps coloured my view of the park.

There are good few play areas, including covered soft play, but I could hav paid less money to go to a soft play centre and been warm,

There is a pen where you can feed goats and sheep but its entirely unsupervised and the goats are far from gentle and will jump up with there fore-legs on anyone they suspect has food.

The vietnemese pigs look rather unhealthy - struggling to breath and unable to see their eyes.

There is a land train that takes you to see the llama and deer and you can feed them - but (and this in not the parks fault I suppose) my children found the llama very big and scary, plus you have to pay extra for this.

There are handwashing facilities but there is no hand-gel so you have to wash in freezing water.

Blackbeards restaurant on the other hand was VERY GOOD. A very warm welcome from a gentleman in chef's whites, who explained his menu to us, the childrens sandwiches made fresh to order, and an excellent breakfast baguette.

The restaurant and the staff in general (who were all helpful and friendly) were highlights but I doubt we'll go back - Pennywell might be 45 minutes away but it does it better.

Thank you for your feedback – as a park we always welcome customer’s views of how we might improve their experience. We are pleased that your experience in the restaurant and our recently refurbished play zone was very good, but are of course disappointed that your experience elsewhere was not what you were hoping for.

Like any attraction of our kind, being essentially a farm environment, we are simply not geared up in the short term for the sort of extreme cold weather that has affected the entire country this spring. Like many hundreds of local businesses’ we are trying to cope with the coldest March in half a century.

I would reassure you that the well being of all of our animals is of the up most importance to us and our kune kune pigs are fit and healthy and are fine examples of their breed. Our friendly goats are very used to the company of people, but will of course get excited when they think food maybe available. We do try and ensure our signage is clear and helpful to customers when entering our pet centre, but I will see if any improvements can be made.

Hand gel is provided around the park, but is no real supplement for hand washing. Again I can reassure you that all of our hot water tanks are working, but on quieter days the run from the tanks to the taps can allow the water in the pipes to go cold, particularly in such extreme cold weather conditions.

I am sure that your visit to the Park out of season, in such an unusually cold period has not allowed us to show off our park to its full potential and we do hope that you might come back and visit us again when the spring eventually decides to arrive.

This would of been a lovely family day out if it wasnt so cold !, There adverts state that there is plenty to do indoors, which there is but in barns with no heating so just as cold as outside ! we had to cut our visit short as it was bitter cold when we went. In warmer weather you could easily spend the whole day there !
Walking and feeding the goats was great ! and the deer / lama ride was fab !, plenty of play equipment to choose from such as ball pits, trampolines, bouncy castle, sand pits, soft play and giant pirate ship !,
Going back in time and looking at history was very interesting. And the restaurant had a good choice of food at good prices.
Would recomend the world of country life for a summer day out !

The new entrance was not finished, but looks as if it will be first class. Bit disappointed that the Deer train ride was an extra cost. Check that the information board at the start has the right date and the right information. We nearly missed the ferret racing due to the board being incorrect.

We took our two year old here, its a lovely day out. He loved the soft play areas (good as it was a cold drizzly day!) and he liked feeding the goats. Also the museum bits are worth a walk round too! Really good value for money and a good day out.
