We stayed for 3 nights at the end of May and had a wonderful time. Huw and Sam are wonderful hosts and head up a great team. We stayed in one of the coach house rooms and it was lovely to be able to go out for dinner across the courtyard and walk home again in the evening (all of 20 metres).

The meals are excellent and the wine list is very good with helpful descriptions for us wine drinkers who have absolutely no idea about wine regions but know what we like.

If you want a break and some luxury then this is the place for you.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your first stay with us earlier this month. Many guests, like you, enjoy staying in the recently refurbished coach house rooms and, indeed, this year the new Arlington Suite is proving to be the most popular room in the Hotel.

We are pleased that you found the descriptions on our award winning wine list useful and we are even more delighted that you found a few more wines that you like!

Thank you for reviewing your stay on Tripadvisor and we hope to see you again soon.

We stayed 4 nights in late May/early June. We have stayed in many first class smaller hotels, which is the kind we prefer, and this is one of the very best. The rooms are individual. Ours was a medium priced one, large, comfortable and well fitted. The quality of the food is excellent and the menu changes nightly. The service is exceptional, from both the proprietors and the staff. We felt like guests at a country house party. The house and gardens are delightful, quiet and within easy reach of some fabulous Exmoor cliff-top and moorland walking. We shall be back.

It was very kind of you to say that you found our hotel to be one of the very best small country house hotels you have ever stayed at. We have shared your comments about the excellent service you received with the entire team here - they are a great team of passionate local people who work really hard to look after all our guests and so your comments are really appreciated by us all

Thank you so much for reviewing your stay and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

We stayed for a weekend at the Old Rectory at the end of May. Every aspect was perfect, including the weather!
Sam and Huw, our welcoming hosts, should be justly proud of their hotel, situated by the SW coastal path. Our downstairs bedroom was delightful, with a view over the beautifully kept garden. The food was excellent and served by lovely local staff. Pre dinner canapes and drinks in the garden.... perfect. We will be back.

Thank you very much for coming to stay with us and for your very positive review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay so much, which we are sure was enhanced by the fantastic weather we have recently had. You really cant beat afternoon tea or pre dinner drinks in the garden on a warm sunny day!

We look forward to seeing you both again soon.

The Old Rectory Hotel was excellent, the breakfast, dinner and wine were superb. Stayed in the Arlington suite, very large, also huge bathroom., bed was very comfortable. Spotlessly clean. Sam and Huw were great hosts. Wish we could have stayed longer. We shall be back. We stayed at The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow never again after staying at The Old Rectory.

Room Tip: All rooms are great.

We agree that a decent night's sleep, good food and a beautiful environment are all really important elements of a good hotel experience. We are delighted that, despite being hard to please, you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us!

Thank you for your review and we hope you will pop up from Taunton to see us again soon!
