What a lovely place to stay. Bob and Suzanne were very welcoming and down to earth. Gave us some tips on places to visit, eat and walk. Very clean and accommodating as we took our 7 year old Spaniel, Winston. It wasnt a problem for them.

It is always a pleasure to reach a journey's end no more so then when your destination is the Exmoor Lodge. Bob and Suzanne gave me their usual warm welcome. I didn't take up the kind offer for tea as I was straight off to The Crown to meet my friends who live in the village.

Winter hasn't quite done with Exmoor yet but as the temperature dropped I was able to snuggle up under the cosiest duvet in one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. Heating was on at just the right level to combat the bitter Exmoor night (no problems here as reported by a another reviewer)

Bob's breakfasts are legendary and have to be tasted to be believed! Beautiful cooked breakfast with juice and tea/coffee rounded off by heaps of toast and locally jams and marmalades. I never have room for cereal but that is also available. All served with a smile and the local gossip.

I was out both evenings of my stay but there is a fabulous lounge where guests can relax on sofas in front of the log burner and either read or watch the TV. For those that prefer to venture out the B & B is within staggering distance of the village's two pubs.

This should be the first place you consider when booking accommodation on Exmoor.

Room Tip: Honeysuckle is perfect for any weary traveller who has been out on the moor all day.

I visited this lovely warm and friendly guest house last weekend. The owners were just amazing and made it feel like home from home. A quaint guest house, everything was so clean, our room was lovely and the breakfast great. If you want to stay in a guest house or hotel that offers you a TV in your room and is new and modern then this is not the place to be. If it is service and people who make you feel so important and welcome, then this is definitely the place to be, and after all, thats what its all about.

I stayed with my partner to visit some family over the weekend. The B&B was warm and welcoming, the room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and we will definitely be staying again next time we visit the area.

On face-value a lovely little place in the centre of a pretty village with 2 great pubs within 2 minutes walk & a tasty fresh breakfast. I wouldn't recommend staying here in winter however - the upstairs rooms are freezing cold. I had to request the central heating be turned on but it didn't stay on long enough to feel comfortable. The room also had damp throughout the one corner & therefore a musty smell.

I stayed with some friends on a walking weekend during the very cold first weekend in December 2012. Bob and Suzanne were lovely and made us feel we were home from home - attentive without being over fussy and nothing was too much trouble and very tolerant of mud! They were very accommodating when we suddenly decided to stay an extra night. My room (twin ensuite) was very cosy, extremely comfortable with lots of little extras. The lounge had a roaring open fire and the breakfasts were amazing - really good quality ingredients, specialty jams and endless supplies of tea and coffee. They have two adorable pets - Lola the cat and Peanuts the dog which just added to the home from home feel of the place. Great value for money. I will definitely be booking again when in the area.

Room Tip: Some of the double rooms were a little colder than my ensuite as the radiators were not as warm. Ho...

Superb accommodation in the centre of Exford - comfy beds, lovely bathrooms and a cosy guest lounge complete with telly and log burner.

Bob's catering is fabulpus. We were welcomed with tea and cake on our arrival. Whilst his breakfasts are of epic proportions and superb quality that leave you full until supper time! Worth staying here just for the breakfast. In fact my friend is still raving about his breakfasts 6 months down the line.

This B & B is perfect for anyone seeking a base on Exmoor for walking, country sports or other outdoorsy stuff. As an added advantage it is within staggering distance of the 2 village pubs!
