The galleon tea room and gift shop are just a lovely place to visit both for gifts and for something to eat,the staff are lovely and the meals upstairs are yum, especially martyn s home made scones are the best, so i would ignore everything jane says and give the galleon gift shop and tearoom a try especially when you can sit on the roof terrace and watch the world go by

We visited as a family of five and we're immediately met by I presume the owner who immediately gave us a warm welcome. As a parent of three boys, two of whom are very chatty, active five year old twins it is important that the children are made as welcome as we are, there was no problem here! With the owner even coping well with one of my boys standing at the kitchen door asking him where he keeps his cornflakes for his breakfast!
Our food was lovely and good value and we were given lots of good advice about the surrounding area from the friendly owner. :)

This was a great place, nice area upstairs on the terrace, good service and great cream teas. The scones were straight out of the oven and were amazing.

We read about it on trip advisor before we travelled. We weren't disappointed. It was, not surprisingly, usually busy. There were seats inside and on the balcony. We were outside on both occasions. Toilets nice and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Just go, you will enjoy.

Recently enjoyed a lunchtime meal here, sitting out on the terrace with our dog. The service was friendly and prompt, and my husband said it was the best Ploughman's (brie) he had ever had. Our only regret was that they didn't open in the evenings when we next visited.
