The room was comfortable and clean with the usual modern facilities. The highly regarded breakfasts lived up to expectation.

The car parking is not for the timid but far from as bad as reported. The location is ideal for investigating the area.

Room Tip: This is not a modern building but has everything you need.

Just returned from a 4 night stay with Dave and Diane, our second stay with them, and we can honestly say that from arriving at 9-30 in the morning being greeted, way too early to check in, with a pot of tea to Leaving today after another great breakfast we were treated like one of the family. Once again a very clean and user friendly place to stay. Fabulous base to explore the surrounding areas, but expecially for us as it was the "Earl of Rone" weekend. Would highly recommend it and have booked another holiday here next year.

Booked this after a website search. From images on website it looked ok. However pictures never give a true story.
Hotel is not an apt name - it's a budget B&B, charging not budget prices. Parking is terrible. Carpark has really steep slope that unless you drive a smart car it would be difficult to get in and out. We had to reverse to get out. Parking is one car behind the other each allocated to a room, so if you want to go out in your car you have to distrub two other rooms to get your car out. The decor.......what can I say.........Like going into your nans house forty years ago. Furniture is so outdated, bathrooms yes they may of painted them but the are cupboards with a toilet. Garish colours to walls in bathroom were just horrible. It needs updating in a big way. There were no lights on downstairs in the lounge area so unable to use. Constant noise from other guests going up and down stairs which in all fairness you will get a cetain level of noise from other guests which would be expected but excessive amounts, the owners should really interveine and prevent. Sadly the owners were nowhere to be seen. I would liken this more to a hostel type establishment.
In view of what we saw we only last a few hours here before leaving, I can't comment on breakfast as we never stayed. All four of us in the group decided that we would rather drive home than stay here the night.
If you were paying £25.00 per night each you would expect that level of facilities. For the prices they are charging the customers will expect better. Premier Inn or Travel Lodge has way better standards than here. Having stayed in both, there was no comparison !!!!

We booked this after a quick internet search came up with reasonable reviews and found it also recommended in the rough guide for devon.
Il be brutally honest and say first impression was,oh dear, very much old school seaside b&b,but that's more the building and location to be honest-you do look out at a variety of roofs and houses, before you get,the much better than expected sea view.before I upset our hosts too much, the room looked recently refurbished,it was clean and the bed very comfortable.shower/toilet room was on the small side, but again clean and all worked well, though intermittent banging from the loo initialy due to an air lock or something, but just as I was getting ticked off and about to report it,it settled down and behaved for the rest of our stay.
Breakfast was good and the room facilities all present and correct-tv,kettle,wifi etc and an alarm clock is a welcome addition, not found in many establishments.
It WAS a quiet location come mid evening on and not too bad a nights sleep.
Not overly expensive, but not quite budget.swimming pool is micro size so don't let that sway your decision.all in all, pleasant enough

Booked a short break for the end of the Summer holidays with my family. Paid our deposit and after two weeks were informed via Travel Republic that the hotel was shut on our first night and would we mind booking in a day later! So my 4 day Summer holiday was now a 3 day one.

My wife called the Hotel direct and was told by the owner that they weren't actually shut they just had double booked us with another party. No apology no nothing. My wife actually told him she was surprised by his attitude as it wasn't our fault they had double booked us.

Room Tip: Choose another Hotel!
