normally end up in this pub at the end of an night, some dodgy music, fun and quirky bar staff and a late licence.

“Great Pub- Best in area”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

The Lansdowne is a great local pub, great value food and every time we ate here all meals were lovely.
In the nighttime the place comes alive with bands djs and karaoke.
While in Dawlish you can also watch all sporting events here.
The staff are all friendly and the drink prices are also reasonable over all way my favorite place to eat and drink in the Dawlish area.

“Tuesday Night Curry & Drink Special”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

The food served by Dave and Andy at the Lansdowne in Dawlish is exceptionally good quality and very reasonably priced. The steaks are superb. On Tuesday nights they do a curry and a glass of beer, lager or wine at a ridiculously good price and it includes pappadoms and condiments - fantastic value!

The choice of draught beers and lagers is excellent. The Fullers ESB is amazing.

This place is well worth a visit.

“Excellent local pub we just stumbled across”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

We stopped the car outside this pub in Dawlish and went in for for a drink and a late lunch.

The decor was appealing and the many pictures of rugby, including welsh legends (we are from Cardiff), made us feel at home. There was a real fire and newspapers to read.

There were 3 real ales: Butcombe Bitter (always good), ESB (value bitter) and a Festive Totty from the Cheddar brewery. The very friendly bar lady was knowledgeable about the ales and we tried the Festive Totty: it was a delicious, dark, chocolatey drink, well kept.

We both ordered the 'home made scotch egg' salad. The salad was simple but enormous. The sausage meat was quite spicy, I think with a hint of curry. Very nice. We had sauces bought to the table for us: Newman's balsamic salad dressing and a quality mayonnaise.

Chef and owner both spoke to us as they passed and so did some of the locals.

Tasteful background music was playing (I hate a lot of background music!).Toilets were very clean.

To be clear, this is a local pub in Dawlish serving very good value pub food, not a gourmet exclusive restaurant. Curries were priced from £3-99 for example. The 5 star rating is because it seemed a perfect local with good value food and drink.
