We have eaten here several times over the years, the last time was yesterday. This is a busy little restaurant, with basic, but delicious food. My choice of steak and kidney pie, chips and peas was delicious. My wife had the cod and chips, also with chips and peas, and while these are simple menu items, they were served piping hot, accompanied with prompt and polite service. The desserts were fabulous, my wife had the steamed jam sponge pudding with custard, I had the chocolate pudding with custard, and once again, these were nicely presented and served piping hot. These desserts were lovely, and took us back to an earlier age of real desserts, and not the common and frequently used cold tarts, tortes and gateaux, and while these latter items have their place, and some were available today, these hot traditional puddings were a welcome end to a lovely lunch.
