there are one or to reviews on here that are very unfair packed with downright lies so im going to tell the real truth
we booked with Hazlewood dawlish the first week of the school holidays we paid just over £300 for the week just a fraction of what the other parks charged for that week reception staff we realy helpfull i cant imagine them being rude

as in other reviews the wifi was not working or slow but we had it for free so that,s not an issue
the park its self is well maintained there is an issue with duck poo but that.s the same on all the parks in the area due to it being a wild life reserve not the fault of the park but they do clean it they did it when we were there

our chalet had been refurbished new tv kitchen bathroom with bath and shower 2 beds not big but resonable there was a bit of a musty smell when we got there but a bit of spray gone untill we used the hoover that where the smell came from it needed filters once done we had no problem
club house is on the small side holds about 150 peeps entertainment was good two guys and a girl they work hard and did a good job
bar staff were i think a family run franchise they were friendly and the food being served was sound and you got alot for your money
there was a chippy out side but that kept stupid hours so not a good point there
this is also a residential park .so all in all we had a great time it was value for money

Room Tip: your there for a holiday enjoy it

we stayed in curlew lodge number 13, i got the impression that hazelwood park act as an agent for the owner. The lodge was nice, the kitchen was very small and no work surface, when we booked we were told this lodge had a washing machine (as a family it would have been handy) instead there was a dishwasher and to be honest who needs to use a dishwasher in a caravan!!! it was a waste of space. The cleaning leaves a lot to be desired, i think who ever cleaned gave it a quick flick with a dirty cloth, we spent the first hour cleaning the lodge. We did not use the facilities on the park as we just used the lodge as a base but the pool looked like as if it was used by a lot of people from the park across the road. The park shop was very expensive we had to call in for milk and it cost £1.70 for 2ltrs!! we had wonderful weather so were very lucky and did a lot of exploring what Devon has to offer. The wild life on the park is lovely to look at, apart from the huge spiders and spiders webs both inside and outside the lodge. we did enjoy our stay and would probably visit again.

I would like to thank Hazelwood Holiday park for a great time! The chalets were clean and if they did smell a bit musty it was soon blown away by opening the windows! yes the settee and chairs were a bit worn but it is a DOG Friendly chalet so was quite happy with it. A special mention to Kathleen and Robin... you know who you are..thankyou so much and we know Poppy will miss her favourite lady !!

We stayed in one of the luxury lodges and paid the additional £90 for the Hot Tub (very worth it by the way :-))
The lodge itself was okay, warm and cosy. We needed to clean the surfaces, handles etc in the kitchen as they were coated in a layer of grease, so I think this may not be on the cleaners list of things to do. We were a little surprised though at the state of the fridge and microwave, both had to be blitzed before we could use them.
The beds and bedding were all clean and well presented, do remember to bring your own bathroom towels and tea towels for dishes (there is a dishwasher though).
The site itself is quiet and this was lovely in the evening on the deck with a glass of wine enjoying the sunset. Do note that during the high season there can be events in and around dawlish warren which we were not made aware of, for example the holiday park next door had a musical event on one evening but it did stop around 10:30 pm. There was a fireworks display on the Thursday evening at the beach but being in a valley the noise travelled, this was about 9:20 pm, so it would be good to ask reception if you have small children or pets.
Our interaction with the staff was very pleasant, we experience a small maintenance glitch with the hot tub, the staff had been round to check on it and decided it needed a top up and then got called away subsequently forgetting that it was being filled. We came back to a lovely looking waterfall with water gushing over the side of the hot tub :-) After popping round to reception they quickly got someone there to sort it out and it only took 3 hours for the tub to heat back up to temperature.
The area has plenty of fish and chip shops, you will find one that suits your preferences, there is even a small bakery come cafe on the main street that does a most excellent bacon crusty roll.
Although the site itself looks tired in places and you can see they are doing maintenance, we enjoyed our week and we would consider coming back at some future point.
P.S. Someone has previously mention the geese and the things they leave behind... it is so very true, on some stretches we had to play hopscotch :-)

Room Tip: Luxury Lodges are the way to go if you have the budget.
