Our Stay with our friends Richard & Rosemarie was excellent, we had a very friendly host in Nikiya and she made us all feel very welcome and at home; the rooms were very good and the breakfast also, All the staff were friendly, and it was in an ideal position, to walk into Dawlish at night for Dinner, or a few minutes up the Hill to The Smugglers Inn which was very good as well, in all we had a lovely five day break.

We chose this hotel mainly for convenience, within walking distance of Dawlish station and close to bus stops in both directions. The room was clean, reasonably large and decently furnished. The service was good and the breakfasts excellent. Staff were very friendly. We had a very enjoyable stay here.

Room Tip: We had a downstairs room (9), which was very convenient for us and quiet but lacked a good view.

10 May - 15 May 2012. Found this hotel by surfing the net for hotels around the Teignmouth/Dawlish area. Booking was easy over the phone with Ian. The directions to the hotel were easy to follow and booking in with Nikki was welcoming and simple. The rooms are quite small, but adequate and when we were there the bar was not open on several occasions although to us this was not a major inconvenience. The breakfasts' should have a Tripadvisor page of there own! A Full English was exactly what it said on the tin! There are a limited number of restaurants open in May in both Dawlish and Teignmouth, however those that were open supplied good meals and were not expensive. We would definitely use this hotel as a base again and have no trouble in recommending it to anyone.

Room Tip: Some rooms are bit small and tend to overlook the car park rather than the sea.

From the moment we arrived late at night Ian made us feel right at home. A warm welcome in the morning from Nikki followed by the best breakfast we had on our month holiday in the UK, we knew we had picked the right place.

As a family of four with two young energtic boys choosing somewhere family friendly was really important and that's just what Lyme Bay was: a wonderful homely place with comfortable beds, spotless rooms and hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble.

Nikki and Ian: thank you! We will see you next year.
