The Cherrybrook is in a perfect spot for sightseeing around this area of Dartmoor. The hotel is very comfortable and the owners very accommodating. We have not took our dog with us before in a hotel and it was fine. You can walk straight out of the hotel onto a lovely Dartmoor walk. The evening meals and breakfasts were first class and the bar is very well stocked at reasonable prices.

Room Tip: Book early if you want one of the premier rooms

Cherrybrook was an excellent place for our weekend break, the staff were very welcoming and the location was stunning. It is by far the most dog friendly place we have stayed at yet, which is great as we have a very hyper miniature schnauzer. In our room was a very informative guide to the local area including some stunning walks and even a dog bowl and dog treats. The three course dinner was amazing, as well was the breakfast. The owner even helped us out when our car unfortunately broke down the day before we were due to leave by putting us in touch with an excellent local mechanic. All the food and drinks were locally sourced including some great ales and wines. Top notch service and a great stay all round.....looking forward to our next stay.

Room Tip: The front rooms would give an excellent view of Dartmoor, we plan on choosing one next time.

After arriving late having flown from Jersey, Channel Island, we were made most welcome at the Cherrybrook. The dinner was superb and breakfast equalled it. Wish we could have stayed longer. Fantastic location and the hosts help you as much as they can..

Room Tip: We chose a room with a shower room. We find that showers in the bath are difficult to step into. The...

The unique positon of the Cherrybrook allows you to look out across mile after mile of deliciously wild Dartmoor. The sky is so big it could be Montana.
The room was fresh, well appointed, with a comfortable bed and a spotless ensuite.
The evening meal was to die for, served in a dining room that once again gave a beautifull view onto the Moor.
The hosts were most attentive, with Dave suggesting various options of real ale to try before the meal was served.
All in all a lovely experience.

Room Tip: If you can go for one of the front bedrooms with that all important view.

We returned recently for our visit, which is becoming an annual pilgrimage. The welcome is beyond compare, the food is stunning, the moor is inviting and refreshing in all weathers. Special thanks to Dave for the personalised walking maps, this is a unique service!

Room Tip: Beautiful views from the front rooms, well worth the small supplement.

We were a group of 8 dog walkers, looking to find the best and most varied scenery on Dartmoor Cherrybrook was ideally situated since we could either walk out the back door or drive to other attractions, mostly within 20 mins. It is remote and the views from the premises are stunning. David and his family could not have been more welcoming - even the dogs had their own bowls of nibbles to greet them - or helpful over choice of walks and other attractions. The food was quite excellent - no stingy Nouvelle Cuisine helpings here - and was particularly welcome after hours out on the moor. Although dogs could have slept in the room, we chose a room overlooking their preferred pitch in the car. Nothing seemed to faze the family, be it muddy wet clothing to be dried or dripping dogs. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: The Cherrybrook website is most helpful in this respect.

This was my favorite of the 5 B&Bs we staying in during our recent trip to the UK. I wish we had stayed much longer. Why did I enjoy it the most? No, it wasn't because it was posh or fancy. It was because it was so ~ well ~ so moorish. The setting on Dartmoor was remote and isolated and, since I was reading "The Hound of the Baskervilles" at the time, I thought it was perfect. The views from the windows were so rural ~ sheep, cows, hedges, moorland. And being able to have dinner at the B&B with the other guests and then hang out in the little stucco and beamed "pub" beside the dining room afterwards gave it an intimate, country house party feel. (I'm a picky eater, but I thought the food was excellent!) We travel to meet people as much as to view sites, so being thrown together with the owners and guests for chatting and swapping stories in the evening was really fun and enriched our overall experience. Thank you!!!
