“Burns Supper”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

On 24th January regular patrons celebrated Robert Burns Birthday with an excellent, traditional Burns Supper of Haggis, Neeps and Champit Tatties with whisky gravy! The Haggis was piped in by a a piper dressed in the formal attire of the Black Watch and the 'Ode to the Haggis' was given by a fellow Scot from Ayrshire, (Burns County).

“Civil Service Pensioners Christmas Party”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

On 20th December, nearly fifty retired civil servants gathered in the Prince of Wales, Princetown for their Christmas Lunch and Party. The group started assembling about 11.00am, a mini-bus collected those who lived outside the village, and the pub started to fill very quickly. The first item on the agenda was the Grand Christmas Draw which had over eighty prizes to be won; including two televisions. The Draw took about an hour having started at 11.45 and finishing in plenty of time for the four course traditional lunch to start at 1.00pm. After lunch they were entertained by Geoff Lakeman and 'Speakeasy' who played a selection of 1920's to 1940's music with the pensioners singing along or dancing to well remembered melodies.
As is usual for this venue, everyone agreed that the meal was absolutely fabulous and the entertainment excellent. -- I can't wait for next year's party.

“Princetown Pensioners Headquarters”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

I'm lucky to be able to live in Princetown and use the Prince of Wales as my local. The food is always great and are served in generous portions and the ales excellent - and the best ales are brewed here in the village. Watch out for the two kittens, they are Bengals with fabulous markings.
The Princetown CS Retirement Fellowship meet here once a month. I'm looking forward to our Christmas Lunch and Party which we hold here every year.

“A gem in Princetown”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2012

The small town of Princetown on dartmoor really has more than i's fair share of good hostelries, and this is no exception. Great for families, good beer, and excellent food. Says it all really, highly recommended.

“So much food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2012

Just spent another great weekend at the prince, we stayed in the camping barn which is very clean, comfy and a bargain at £12 night pp.
The food is awesome - the ham egg and chips are stunning, the portions are HUGE but the ham is the best I have ever tasted.
If you are looking for a cheap but clean and comfy place to stay with good food I would always recommend The Prince of Wales. Terry is also a true friendly landlord who will make you feel really welcome.
