We enjoyed our stay here. The service was good and the location convenient on the road between Oakhampton and Bude. Some rooms overlook the moors in the distance and breakfast was beautifully served. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we would stay here again.

We staid for one evening as a break on the long journey to St Ives. Fairway Lodge proved an ideal location being in the lovely Devonshire countryside. The bedroom we had was really nice, clean and comfortable. We received a friendly welcome which continued throughout our stay. The garden was linked with a closely mown field so there is plenty of walking space to enjoy the peaceful countryside and an added attraction were a few friendly, curious sheep.
The breakfast offered was substantial and freshly cooked and we went on our way refreshed.

We found Fairway Lodge to be very friendly. Our room was clean, maybe a little on the small side, (the room was only used for sleeping in, we were out during the day, so it didn't bother us) however, there was everything you would need from coffee/tea/biscuits to shampoo/conditioner/shower gel, all replenished every day. The main road did not bother us as it was quiet during the night. The service was excellent and the breakfast was very good. The was a good choice of cereals, yoghurts, fruit and various homemade jams which were delicious! I would certainly recommend a stay here.

My wife and I stayed for two nights in October. Our room was large, light, well appointed and airy and we had the biggest bed I think I have ever seen and pleasant rural views from windows on two sides. The en suite bathroom had a toilet, shower and sink, but as an Australian I still find it hard to understand carpeted floors in bathrooms. Breakfast was served in the separate building that you pass as you drive in, so we were glad it wasn't belting down with rain when we went to breakfast. Our hosts were friendly and were happy to help with suggestions for where to go for dinner etc. The location is isolated and entry to the property does rather jump out of nowhere, so make sure you slow down as you approach.

My Husband, Son and I stayed 1 night as a stop over to break the journey to Cornwall. Owners very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in Room 8 which had a kinsize bed and a single bed. We had a portable TV suspended from the wall about 2m up.
We were awoken at 5.20am the next morning by the 2 circular glass light fittings jangling like cymbals, (we later discovered there was a family of 5 above us) the owner assumed the 3 boys had been stomping around but we also heard it as bad when one person went into room to clean it after they left and we were still in our room. My husband recorded the light fitting sounds and complained to the Owner, he said he was not aware of the loose light fittings and gave us £20 back.
The cooked breakfast and service was very good.
So if you are shown to Room 8, please ask if anything has been done about the light fittings, as the Owner is now aware of the problem.
It was unfortunate we did not hear the occupants above before we went to sleep or we would have asked to be moved.
Other than this we found the hotel pleasant, just a shame about us not getting much sleep.

Room Tip: Ask if Room 8 light fittings problem has been fixed if you are given this room.

We book one night as a stop off on our way home. Didn't know what to expect but we were met with a friendly welcome and shown to our rooms, which were comfortable and very clean. Our breakfast offered choices of cereal, fruit, fruit juices and cook breakfast and was very good. The service was very attentive and great. Would recommend Fairway Lodge.

The room was OK but the whole place lacked any atmosphere. Everything was adequate but there was something missing. The 'breakfast room' which was located in a separate block felt more like a truck stop cafe. Everything seemed to be there for the convenience of the owners not the guests. Breakfast was disappointing.
