The Knole Farm is a really marvellous place to stay. The rooms are superb, and to say they are excellent is an understatement. The service is not just efficient, but everything is done with such an air of cheerfulness, we felt that we were long lost friends, not part of a business relationship.
I have stayed at several B&B's all very good but The Knole beats them all.
The breakfast award is totally merited. I never had such breakfasts for choice or quality.
My friend and I are not great walkers, but found plenty to keep us interested round about. It was an excellent holiday. The efficiency, kindness, and sheer luxury we found at the Knole was beyond all previous experience. We will always be grateful to Mavis Bickle for her hospitality way beyond anything we could have thought possible.

Our second visit. A warm welcome from Mavis, and very comfortable accommodation with amazing views. The choice of breakfast and evening meals was excellent and the food was superb. It is the sort of place you will want to keep coming back to.

The countryside location on the edge of Dartmoor is ideal for walking, cycling and visiting nearby towns and places of interest.

We stayed 2 nights in February 2013. Bitterly cold outside, but warm and cosy inside! Mavis made us feel very welcome, gave us wonderful breakfasts and took time to chat with us, and all the time being in the middle of lambing. We have been enjoying B and B for many years, and this is the best we have found. Good base for visiting Devon and Cornwall. Good shopping in Okehampton.

Me and my fiance stayed here for one night this weekend and didnt want to leave. Mavis is lovely and very accommodating. The rooms are gorgeous with amazing views over the farm and countryside. Beds are so comfortable we disnt want to get up, but so glad we did as breakfast is to die for. Cant fault anything about this place. They deserve every one of their stars. Will definately be returning but for longer next time :)

The Eleven strong Pelaton streamed in very late..midnight, having left Ilfracombe that morning on a two day Tour de Devon with Knole Farm as the stopover. Mavis was concerned for our safety and phoned us to ensure we were ok. On arrival our trusty wheels were stabled in the barn and a pot of hot tea made us warm on what was a very chilly night. The house is very warm and inviting. Personally, I went straight to bed and slept like a baby in the comfortable bed. All facilities were available in the room, tea, coffee, fridge and a massive en suite.
Breakfast was a fabulous full Devon with egg, bacon and all the trimmings...it kept us going all day for the remaining 40 miles to Plymouth.
I would seriously consider booking The Knole for any business trip nights that I may have.
The Knole is central to Devon and would make an ideal base to go off touring the county.
Thanks Mavis, you're very hospitable.
sean.

Having been very lost on a long cycle ride, Mavis welcomed us in to the B&B gone midnight! The rooms were clean, warm and I could have slept forever in the beds! Beautiful surroundings and perfectly located for cycle route 27. Thoroughly recommend a stay on this pretty farm.

A five star B and B in all ways. The excellent breakfast gives a great start to the days activities be it walking cycling or site seeing, then one returns to a delicious evening meal, cooked from local produce, no need to visit the local pubs. Our room was large, comfortable and warm. Having a fridge in the room meant there was no need for those annoying pots of long life milk!
