My husband and 2 friends visited this pub at the end of January. It was a wet Wednesday evening and there were more diners than expected. We all had the 2 courses for £9.95 and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and the presentation of the food. The fish pie was packed with salmon and cod with apple mash, one of the best I have recently eaten. The pub was warm with a welcoming wood burner and sofas. This pub is now under the management of the chef previously at the Rose and Crown, Yealmpton and he has brought with him a very similar menu and food concept. The service was good but this was early evening and only one person serving at the bar, taking food orders and delivering the food. If the pub was busier I don't think she would have been able to cope. We will be making this a regular eating destination and have recommended to all our local friends.
