I visit this pub quite regularly but was disgusted to be charged £9.20 for a sausage bap and. A cup of tea!! When I questioned the amount I was told it wasn’t on the menu so would have to be charged the same as a steak bap!! Really what a joke needlessly to say I won’t be back and will tell my friends to give it a wide birth, shame on you.

Ring O'Bells, serves excellent local ales, good food and breakfasts were varied and friendly. Bedroom had everything we needed to make an otherwise very wet visit to Dartmoor cosy and restorative. Well located in the traditional Dartmoor town of Chagford which has lots of varied shops, eateries and culture to enjoy.

My wife and I spent a night at the Ring of Bells while walking a portion of the Dartmoor Way...this inn/pub was, by far, the best accommodation of our trip. Arriving soggy and chilled after walking all day in the rain, we arrived to a warm welcome from the staff and owner. After a restorative pint in the pub, we were shown to our recently rebuilt and refurnished room. The designer touch was everywhere...from the bathroom fixtures, the seating, the wall decorations, and the comfortable bed. Simply stunning!

The selection of starters and mains on the dinner menu was extensive, and all dishes made use of local ingredients. We can recommend the chicken main and the tempura squid and squash soup starters. The wine list is excellent as well.

If the charming Dartmoor town of North Bovey is the crown, the Ring of Bells is the jewel. Highly recommend!

Room tip: We were upgraded to the large room above the dining room...amazing!

A good comfortable room slight problems locking the door and unlocking it.
Other than that wonderful stay the owner remembered a lot and and you had only to ask and she would short it out. It was dog friendly. A good breakfast. A good dinner.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food both at dinner and breakfast was excellent. Chagford was a lovely town. What a great location. Good places for lunches and teas. We took a guided walk on the Moor. Check out Emma (Dartmoor's Daughter)
