The Tradesmans Arms has a rural Dartmoor village location approached via narrow roads, Essentially a pub / restaurant with rooms above. There is a large car park and a pub garden with good views.
Our room was a very small double with little storage space apart from a small chest of drawers or under the bed. Bed quite small, but reasonably comfortable. Small bathroom, but with a good shower - shower gel, shampoo, moisture cream provided. Tea and coffee making provided and a slimline Toshiba TV. Wi Fi connected, but not advertised for use by guests. The other two people in our party had a twin room which was a bit larger. Nice views from the rooms.
The Bar / Restaurant is relatively basic, but quality and choice of evening meal was surprisingly good. Breakfast was also very good.
Staff were all friendly and helpful. Check out stated at 10am although did not seem as if this was being enforced.
Nice stay. I would recommend for a short or overnight stay..

Room Tip: Twin room appeared to be a bit larger than the double.

Thank you for your review and I am glad you enjoyed your stay. One of the rooms you booked was Room 2, a Compact Double which is priced lower than the other rooms. It has a full size Double bed.

I'm glad you enjoyed our quality, plentiful food and hearty breakfast.

Three of us stayed at The Tradesmann's Arms last week on a one night stop over while walking the Two Moors Way. The pub is conveniently located right on the route, so no detours to find accommodation which would have added to our daily mileage. Given I live overseas, finding accommodation online was pretty tough and those I could find only accepted local GBP cheques as reservation deposit - but the Tradesmann's allowed me to book online and accepted my overseas card - brilliant and efficient! Mark was an excellent host and runs his pub extremely well. The food was hearty, large portions and excellent quality and the rooms spacious, light and clean....we loved the morning wake up call from the cows mooing next door. Thanks to Mark also for going out of his way by offering to deliver some of our luggage personally to Plymouth.....very much appreciated.
Overall, highly recommended!

Room Tip: We stayed in a twin room which had a large double bed and a single bed.....it faced the valley and...

Went here for lunch on the recommendation of a friend. Really nice view from the beer garden - it was a beautiful day for a change. I chose the vegetarian lasagne with spinach which was lovely. Nice cider too. Staff very pleasant and quick service. I will return!

Thoroughly enjoyed a two night break at the Tradesman's Arms. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was good and comfortable, lovely large room, with a huge bathroom. Food also available in the evening was excellent, even if the menu was limited. Difficult if you are vegetarian. Close to Dartmouth, Kingswear and Blackpool Sands. Parking is available outside. First time I've had the keys to a pub! Will definitely visit again.

An attractive pub/restaurant offering excellent accommodation and quality home cooked food at a reasonable price. The hosts were both friendly and helpful, our room could not be faulted, being both spacious and very comfortable, breakfast was more than ample & tasty, especially the home produced sausages. The pub itself is a favourite haunt for Sunday lunchers.

The hotels location is excellent for both tourists and walkers wanting to explore the surrounding area of Dartmoor National Park and other tourist attractions.

We will certainly be coming back again to stay!
