We had heard about this place from a seasoned local who had raved about the food and character of the cafe, well I say cafe, but it really deserves restaurant status (without the pomp). some happy and tired dogs greeted us outside next to a couple of tables of smiling walkers snacking on cakes, We were able to grab a recently vacated table by the open plan kitchen and ordered a very memorable late lunch. Most tables were full at nearly 3pm.The staff were chatty and friendly and we felt quite 'at home' , on talking to them they said how busy it had become, all on recomendations as little adverising had been done. Our only disappointment was that they had sold out of the lamb, but I had some fabulous crabcakes, my wife had the Ruby Beef, we even took some homemade carrot cake away with us for later in the day. wouldn't hesitate to go back, a breath of fresh air, S.
