“We'll go back again very soon...”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

We had heard about this place from a seasoned local who had raved about the food and character of the cafe, well I say cafe, but it really deserves restaurant status (without the pomp). some happy and tired dogs greeted us outside next to a couple of tables of smiling walkers snacking on cakes, We were able to grab a recently vacated table by the open plan kitchen and ordered a very memorable late lunch. Most tables were full at nearly 3pm.The staff were chatty and friendly and we felt quite 'at home' , on talking to them they said how busy it had become, all on recomendations as little adverising had been done. Our only disappointment was that they had sold out of the lamb, but I had some fabulous crabcakes, my wife had the Ruby Beef, we even took some homemade carrot cake away with us for later in the day. wouldn't hesitate to go back, a breath of fresh air, S.

“Very poor indeed”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

The signage to reach the cafe is poor with little consideration for disabled visitors. The venue it self, whilst small, is beautifully appointed in a 'sea side' colour scheme and red and white china. We ordered the Devon Ruby Red casserole which took an age to arrive. Served in an individual crock on a cold plate on which were dumped a small assortment of roasted vegetables. However, the casserole had to be sent back as the interior was stone cold. Eventually, the meal was returned and it was 'tasty' but far too much meat in proportion to the small quantity of vegetables. We wanted a desert but on this day it appears there was a photo shoot which was distracting the staff. A simple 'Your meal may take a little longer because...' would have been fine. We were not charged for the casseroles, the service was too slow for us , we felt a lesson in customer care is called for. Pretentious and resting on laurels. We shall not give them a second chance.

“looking forward to next visit”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

Waiting for the meal to be cooked for us was well worth it.Pity about the sweets as many were not available but again what we had was excelent. Staff were pleasant and welcoming, good job we booked as it got very busy. Bovey restaurants will have to look up.Just wonder what it will be like in the summer and gets known - don't see any way they will be able to expand their accommodation. We wish the students all the best for their future careers.

“Absolutely Lovely”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Lovely food and well priced with a very friendly welcome and service. A perfect place to eat before or after your walk . It was busy but we found a table and there are tables outside for people with their doggy friends. They have a long list of 'Daily Specials' and lovely cakes and very light scones! We will be back.

“At last! Somewhere decent to eat in Bovey Tracey!”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

Think cafe! (Somewhere cosy, charming and comfortable to go to for a light bite after a long doggie walk in the beautiful grounds of Park). Now,think restaurant quality delicious food at cafe prices! Even better! This is The Home Farm Cafe at Park in Bovey Tracey!
I have been to the Home Farm Cafe several times since a rather unexpectedly delicious staff christmas lunch, and have been subsequently recommending it to all my friends as a result. At the moment it is the best kept secret in Bovey Tracey, but I fear this won't be for long!
The staff are very welcoming and friendly and even give the dogs who are tied up outside the cafe a chew to nibble on whilst their owners are enjoying the delights within the cafe!

The menu is seasonal and makes a great emphasis on local, organica produce. The lunches are delicious and are very reasonably priced which makes it the best of both worlds at the moment.

We went to the Valentines evening meal last week, which was amazingly good quality and absolutley delicious. My only regret, was to not be able to get to the cheese course!

I would recomend anyone wanting to go here to prebook as word is now getting around and this place is a little gem which is going to become even more popular when the cycle path at Bovey Tracey is completed in the near future.
Well done and good luck to everyone at Home Park Farm with their new venture.
