Owner description: Located in the Dartmoor National Park the River Dart Country Park has an award winning campsite and is open daily from Easter to the end of September for fun and adventurous holidays and days out for families.Set in 90 acres, with lakes, parkland and woods with the majestic River Dart flowing through the Park it is the ideal place to stay or visit. Children can run and play on our Pirate Ship lake and Adventure Playgrounds and our on-site facilities cater for everyone. The Old Sawmill cafe offers a great range of food so mum can also have a break and our onsite shop stocks items for your BBQ! B&B accommodation is also available throughout the year and don't forget all guests have free access to the extensive adventure playgrounds for the duration of their stay. For those seeking more adrenalin fuelled fun there I sour Dare Devil activities including water zorbs, high ropes course, canoeing and kayaking - instructor lead activities - extra cost. Theres an adventure around every corner!

Brilliant staff
Beautiful location and facilities.
You should definitely stay for longer than a day - it never gets boring!
We will be camping next year as this works out as amazing value for money.

We have just returned from another wonderful camping trip, we are all exhausted but we have had great fun. The climbing wall was fantastic value, thoroughly enjoyed the high ropes (2nd year), canoeing and the big zip wire. These may be extra but thoroughly worth every penny, the staff are professional and friendly and my 9 year old daughter absolutely loved the challenges. The camping facilities are always clean, nice hot showers and wonderful surroundings in Dartmoor. My partner has been coming here since she was 15, visited every year for 27 years and her daughter now camps here with her family. The lake and surrounding parks are brilliant fun for all ages. Well done to all of your staff and my families thanks to the owner for a fantastic camping destination.

Just completed our second camping holiday at the River Dart Country Park. Had a truly amazing time. The pitches on the Meadow field were enormous and we even had space left over on it , although we had a six man tent and one of the Coleman event shelters set up as well. The facilities were clean, and there was lots of things for our 10 & 12 years old to do including the high wires ,messing around on the rope swing into the lake (wet suits advisable) and loads of open spaces just to kick a ball around.
Set in fantastic grounds on the river Dart, so we had numerous walks into the woods with dog.
The only thing you need to be made aware of is that the high ropes, zip wire, climbing wall. Archery, and canoeing is all run by an external company so you have to pay extra for this. The lake activities is free as is the access to the lake when you camp here.
We already knew this so were prepared for the extra cost.

Just got back from River Dart after camping for 4 nights with 4 sets of families.
Can safely say we all had an amazing time, and already looking forward to going next year. I felt more organized this year as we brought with us a dinghy and long wet suits for the kids, and the pull up water guns from the shop on site. The new updated obstacle is just fab had a lot of family fun racing here :)
We had a buffet curry night on the Saturday at the Saw Mill which was very nice and also we ate lunch here one day we all had different burgers and they were all very very nice, the only downside we did have to wait 45 mins before food came which was a long wait with the kids and not being told this when we ordered, and also we were one of the first people to order!! But the waitress was very lovely and was very apologetic. All the staff on the park are very helpful and friendly.
We will be defentily going back next year.

Another fantastic weekend had at the River Dart Country Park. Twenty Eight us in all and every year seems to get better. For the children it's a chance to experience freedom and enjoy the lake, slides, swings etc. A massive thankyou to Tom at the Saw Mill for putting us up for our usual Saturday night curry, cheers Tom. Great times great memories see you next year.
