This is the first year we have been. I must say they do put on a good do. The food was plain but well done (carvery). There as also a good choice of cold dishes eg. salmon. There were lots of little touches such as hats, party poppers, chocs. and an endless opportunity to keep eating cheese and biscuits. The staff were excellent and plenty of them too. There was even an excellent Firework display at midnight. Well done.

We visited this hotel for lunch as a mid-point to meet up with friends. We received a lovely welcome and sat by a drawing fire with a cup of coffee whilst we waited for them to arrive. The food was good and the desserts excellent. The quantity and quality for the price is to be recommended. Will definitely make a return visit.

We attended my really close friends wedding here. We stayed the night before with the bridal party. The staff were lovely, couldn't do enough for us, we even got given a bottle of wine for free to celebrate. The wedding was so special and the venue beautiful. Diane organised everything so well. The food was really nice and service outstanding. It's fantastic value for money. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I stayed here with my family overnight to celebrate my Father's 80th birthday. Everything about this hotel is excellent. At check in the receptionist gave us a warm and genuine greeting, went over the booking details with us, showed us to our rooms and checked everything was ok for us.
The food and service at dinner was fantastic, the waiting staff were friendly yet professional and their timing perfect. The table had been decorated for us and the evening was wonderful.
We experienced the same high level of service at breakfast and the chef even came to shake my father's hand and wish him many happy returns.
I cannot thank the Dartmoor Lodge enough for making this occasion as special as it was. I highly recommend the hotel and will, without a doubt be retuning.

Ok we were a bit early in November to have our party, but yet again the hotel was brilliant in every aspect, we are already looking forward to the Christmas Party 2014 when haven't even had christmas this year. If you get a chance to go to the hotel do so you won't regret it

We stayed overnight after an early group christmas meal. We were a touch early for a real christmas menu, but thats because we left it too late booking it. The starters were much better than their menu listings suggested, as were the desserts. The main course was a carvery - excellent gammon & beef with a good selection of tasty, well cooked vegetables.
Breakfast was just as good!
The room was very spacious, clean & warm, huge double bed (I think that it was two singles zipped together) in the wing overlooking the car park. The only down side was that we could hear our neighbours talking and I think that it was the heating pipes that were clunking during the night, but not too much of a problem. When we go back, I'll be requesting that room again.
Easy to get to, no road or street noise, good local ales on tap, the christmas decorations were very nice & tasteful, staff were great and all in all a very enjoyable stay. We'll be back.
