“Lurury in idyllic setting”
Reviewed September 1, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

This property has been carefully thought out to maximise the space. It is beautifully appointed to provide every comfort. We had lovely weather during our stay but I think that even if wet there were plenty of book, DVDs and games to entertain and plenty of literature to help you plan your visits. Wifi connection was good. It was all spotlessly clean and Sarah and Nick were most welcoming and friendly.

“Luxury Romantic Break...don't hesitate!”
Reviewed August 25, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We have just enjoyed 3 nights at this gem on the edge of dartmoor. The apartment is a second floor barn conversion in Bickington. Lush furnishings, beautiful views and friendly owners & dogs make this place so lovely. Free Wi-Fi is a bonus to help you find out the best places to discover on Dartmoor. Would suggest perhaps Sky TV for those lazy chill out afternoons....especially now the football season has started again. 3 chirpy dogs greet you in the mornings so make sure you bring some treats! The bedroom is huge and the bathroom is great with a sunken shower! Loved the large comfortable leather sofa (big enough to snuggle up on!) Good kitchen facilities to cook in during your stay, no need to always eat out.

We went to the Rock Inn and it was amazing, so thank you Sarah for your recommendation. There are lots of places to visit within reach.

We wouldn't hesitate returning, and recommending to friends. For the granary, you do have to climb a lot of steps so make sure you mention this to Sarah on booking as you may suit the downstairs apartment-The Mill.

Thank you Sarah for a lovely stay.

“A magical corner of Devon - complete with four legged angels!”
Reviewed June 17, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

My husband I have just returned from a fantastic spent a week in The Granary for our honeymoon. I found Lurcombe on-line, and it immediately tugged at the heart strings - the views, the relaxed approached, the stunning apartment, the little personal touches and most of all the fact that there were only two apartments on site. Believe me, the pictures do not do it justice!

Nick and Sarah have taken an amazing location and turned it into something magical. The facilities are second to none, everything has been thought of: the best equipped self catering kitchen I've ever used, oodles of fluffy towels, maps galore, personal recommendations from Nick and Sarah, fantastic sunken shower. The hospitality is amazing - a bottle of chilled wine awaited us, then a lovely bottle of bubbles arrived as a birthday gift. And as for Holly, Pumpkin and Scruff, you could never ask for such friendly, enthusiastic and well behaved four legged tour guides.

It was torture to tear ourselves away, and a week living the Devon dream has made more determined than ever to move down one day. The people, the scenery and the way of life are fantastic, and The Granary epitomises the best of Devon in one spot. Thank you Sarah and Nick - we will be back!

“A Haven of Peace...”
Reviewed June 16, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We liked the look of 'The Granary' at Lurcombe as soon as we saw the photos on the website. The response to our enquiry was really friendly, as was our welcome from Nick when we arrived. It didn't take us long to settle in at all and we felt very at home.
'The Granary' is in a beautiful, quiet setting surrounded by hilly farmland. The peacefulness of the place allowed us to feel relaxed quite quickly. Luckily, we were blessed with lovely weather and were able to enjoy walks around the farm as well as trips out each day. The location was very convenient for visiting Exeter, Torquay, Totnes and Dartmoor itself. Nick was very helpful in advising us of good places to visit and to eat out. There is also a wealth of local information in the apartment itself.
'The Granary' is beautifully furnished, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. There is plenty of reading material provided, as well as DVDs and boardgames. It was lovely to be greeted by Holly, Pumpkin and Scruff (the dogs) each day. We hope we didn't spoil them with too many treats!
Our week at Lurcombe was over far too quickly. We would definitely like to return for another stay.

Was drawn to Lurcombe by their site (on web) - Nick got in touch & we went from there. Spent 3 nights @ the Granary, was delightful. If you are looking for a true Devon experience + decent accomodation I highly advise. Had a lovely time & the farm is delightful etc... My only reticence within this review is that there won't be space when I book again! JB

“Idyllic city escape”
Reviewed January 2, 2013 for a stay in December 2012

Stumbling across The Granary online turned out to be the find of the year! An absolutely stunning apartment in an idyllic location.

Sarah and Nick couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming, from our initial enquiry email right up until our reluctant departure - the perfect hosts.

The Granary is beautifully decorated and has everything (and more) you need for the most relaxing break.

If the weather had been better we may have ventured out more but it gave us the perfect excuse to unwind and do nothing!

We will undoubtedly be recommending The Granary to friends and family, although hope this won't make booking too difficult for a return visit!

Thanks for a wonderful stay - the perfect way to see in 2013.
