My husband and I have just visited Northcote Manor using a Travelzoo deal. We got married at the hotel last May and were keen to revisit to enjoy the hotel again. We were not disapointed! We had a lovely room - everything was spotless and perfect in the room. The food was fanstastic and we loved sitting in the lounge with the big roaring fire sipping gin and tonics. Special mention must also go to Mitchell and Lora, and the other staff who looked after us. They were so friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful evening and look forward to our next visit!

We were really excited about staying here, somewhere we'd wanted to book for our wedding 14 years previous but could never afford it!
The price we paid for the room 5 course meal and breakfast was £175 instead of I think £450...it was a lot of money but we thought it would be worth it, it wasnt (but I suppose the owners have to maintain the property)
We arrived at hotel to be seen to by reception and shown to our room, the room was spacious, we had to move the little tv out of the lounge area into the bedroom area!
There was NO tea/coffee making facility in the room, but you could order them and pay thru the nose....
The 5 course meal was served quickly, the staff were over attentive, watching constantly and moving plates immediately (there were a lot of ppl dining that night) The food was nice but not very much!!
The room was comfortable with dark old furniture. We walked around the grounds inbetween the rainfalls which was nice too

We take on board all feedback from our guests; however we are struggling to understand why you have used the word ‘Disappointed’. You were clearly delighted to stay in a good sized suite, enjoyed our grounds, were served promptly and attentively in our restaurant, and in fact, enjoyed our food – all whilst receiving a great saving. We take great pride in our hotel and have many happy guests who return frequently. We can only apologise if you felt disappointed in any way. As stated in the guest information, we make no charge for the complimentary tea trays available on request.

My wife and I and our two friends stayed overnight at the Manor having travelled up from Sidmouth. The Manor and its setting are delightful. From the moment we arrived to our departure the following morning we experienced five-star food (including a full breakfast), wines and superb service in a beautiful Manor House. The rooms are spacious, very clean and delightfully furnished and we would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Did not stay overnight, but attended a wedding reception at the Northcote Manor. What a lovely place! Very friendly and helpful staff / management, atmospheric decor, superb food and a very relaxed and comfortable ambiance. The venue is always a very important factor in a successful wedding/reception ~ It would be hard to beat this one for atmosphere.

We stayed at Northcote Manor overnight for my husbands birthday to include gourmet evening meal, it was absolutely fantastic, the hotel was beautiful, the food was absolutely divine and the service was superb. John our waiter/front house staff made the stay more special as he was attentive and friendly and took time to talk to us about our interests etc. Definitely would recommend the hotel and we have booked to go back again!

My brother & I took our elderly aunt to Devon twice in 2012 and stayed at Northcote for two nights on both occasions. She loved it so much she is looking forward to revisiting Northcote in 2013!
The ambiance is warm and friendly, with all staff , young and mature alike, very helpful and respectful. My aunt occupied a lovely room on the ground floor that had a bathroom set up for guests who no longer enjoyed youthful stability, perfect! The food is of a quality not usually discovered at a hotel meaning we were more than happy to eat in and avoid the pain of finding somewhere local during a short stay.It is off the beaten track in lovely grounds which makes it very peaceful and adds it's charm .
