The Quayside Hotel, Brixham, just stayed the one night , very friendly place, although there's lot of stairs and passages, properly the hotel was made up from several fisher mans cottages. Good position overlooking the harbour , food and service excellent. Would recommend.

I have just returned from a weekend in Devon, and stayed at this hotel with a friend for one night. My friend booked this accommodation as part of a Travel Zoo deal and it exceeded our expectations on most levels.
On arrival we were given a parking permit to park in the hotel car park which is a little distance away up the hill but there was plenty of parking spaces and it didn't take too long to walk back to the hotel. We had dropped our overnight bags off first and when we returned to the hotel our bags had been taken to our room - a nice touch.
The hotel lounge and restaurant were beautifully decorated for Christmas and it gave the hotel a lovely atmosphere. We were allocated room 1 which was a twin room which was well furnished and had a small flat screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. There were complimentary toiletries in the bathroom and the towels were soft and fluffy but a bit on the small side-just a minor niggle. The room was spotlessly clean. For us the only negative points were the fact that the radiator in the bedroom had been turned off and as it is December it would have been nice if the room had been a bit warmer on arrival but it did warm up fairly rapidly. The main downside was the lack of a view of any kind. There was a door which opened on to a balcony of sorts with no roof, it was open to the elements but enclosed on all sides and this was very tatty and in need of some TLC. If booking this hotel upgrade to a harbour view as it would make a huge difference to your stay.
However, for one night in the winter the view wasn't essential and it didn't detract from our stay.
Included in our deal was a 3 course dinner, a glass of bubbly and full English breakfast the following morning. This is where this hotel excels. The choice of food was excellent and you could have anything from either the main menu or the supplementary menu. There was a tiny supplement if you chose the scallops as a starter or the sirloin steak but this was £1 and £2 respectively. The food quality was fabulous as was the presentation. The free glass of bubbly was an added bonus and a second glass was available for £5.
All the staff were friendly and service in the restaurant at both dinner and breakfast was faultless.
This hotel has a lot going for it and the location is good not only for Brixham itself, which is fairly quiet but for visiting other towns in the area. It is certainly within easy reach of Dartmouth which is always worth a visit. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a harbour view

Stayed 30 November for one night on the Travelzoo deal. Had a lovely evening meal, good choice and very well presented. Breakfast was very good too.

Hotel is very quaint and great view over the harbour. Staff extremely friendly, nothing too much trouble. Will certainly be looking out for this deal again.

Stayed at this quaint harbour side hotel on a two night deal with Travelzoo which included bed, breakfast, evening meal and a glass of bubbles. From arrival to our departure staff were more than helpful. This hotel is made up of 6 fisherman cottages all joined together lots of stairs and winding corridors which we found added to the character. We had an inside room which was clean and tidy, the view from the window was looking onto another part of the hotel which made no difference to us at all. The food was excellent with a wide choice from 2 different menus which made choosing a little difficult, for some items on the al a carte menu you had to pay a small supplement. It has a nice comfy lounge with a fire where you could enjoy a drink and before Otto retired for the night ensured we had got a drink. Car park is a short walk away but again this was not an issue. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for 2 nights using a travel zoo deal. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the bathrooms had a great shower. Even though we had booked with a deal you were able to order from the 3 course set menu or the main a la carte menu. The fish dishes were outstanding and the service impeccable. There was also a large choice for breakfast. Everything was freshly cooked to order. The bar drinks were also reasonably priced. All the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The car park is about 300 yards from the hotel but this wasn't an issue for us. The town is a couple of minutes walk down the hill. We had a great time and would definately stay at this hotel again. A lovely hotel with a personal feel.

We stayed on a Saturday night with the travelzoo deal. We upgraded to a harbour view room, which was lovely. The room was nice, the staff very friendly and helpful. The meal was of a high standard, with lovely fresh fish dishes. Likewise the breakfast. Otto and the restaurant staff were helpful and very accommodating. The harbour side pubs were unremarkable but the area is very picturesque. Overall, we couldn't fault the hotel, food or staff. We recommend walk to berry head which is nearby.
