Owner description: The Golden Hind in Brixham Harbour, is one of only two full sized replicas in the world of 16th century explorer and privateer Sir Francis Drake's famous ship. The Ship has been a feature of picturesque Brixham harbour for over fifty years, entertaining and educating thousands of visitors during this time - as well as being featured on many tv programmes and films. What an amazing ship to think sailors would live on this for moths/years. The history behind this ship is great.

Whilst we were there the chef Heston Blumenthal was filming on the ship, this pulled quite a large crowd and was very entertaining.

Took our kids (8&5) to look round. Had a 10% off voucher from an English Riviera or Passport booklet (can't recall exactly which it was!) and a free postcard voucher. Cost about £12 for the 4 of us and lady kindly gave both kids a free postcard which was a nice memento.

Little 5yr old loved pretending the cannons were firing. Both kids loved getting dressed in the costumes for photos we took.

There's not a lot of room on board, which makes it more amazing to wonder how it sailed round the world with so many crew. The information boards are all interesting and worth taking time to read.

Worth a look.

We visited last week whilst on holiday. Quite informative and interesting to see how conditions were on the ship, we spent around 30 minutes aboard. Its fairly reasonable priced at £4 per adult. Would be more interesting with interactive activities but worth a visit.

First time at the Golden Hind. But it was brilliant! You really do feel like you're captain of the ship.

It's surprising to realise how small the ship was, but this is an exact replica of the original.

The lady we saw in the sailors cabin was really informative and a joy to talk to.
There's a small gift area where you can get memorabilia and its very well priced too.

The Golden Hind is definitely worth a visit if you are in and/or around Brixham. Don't miss it!
