“worth a visit”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

We visited last week whilst on holiday. Quite informative and interesting to see how conditions were on the ship, we spent around 30 minutes aboard. Its fairly reasonable priced at £4 per adult. Would be more interesting with interactive activities but worth a visit.

“Lots of fun”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

First time at the Golden Hind. But it was brilliant! You really do feel like you're captain of the ship.

It's surprising to realise how small the ship was, but this is an exact replica of the original.

The lady we saw in the sailors cabin was really informative and a joy to talk to.
There's a small gift area where you can get memorabilia and its very well priced too.

The Golden Hind is definitely worth a visit if you are in and/or around Brixham. Don't miss it!

“Great experience”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

There aren't many occasions when you'll get the chance to see what life aboard an Elizabethan ship was really like, from the cramped and claustrophobic living quarters of the crew to the tiny captains cabin. The Golden Hind is of course a reconstruction but it's a good one and well worth a look.

“Very Good Fun & Informative”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

We visited the Golden Hind when we were in Brixham. The staff were super friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed looking around the replica of Sir Francis Drake's ship. It was really interesting to see the conditions the voyages were undertaken in and how cramp the living conditions were for so many people. A great attraction for little boys especially or to bring history alive, really good information around the site. Good value as well and well worth a visit. No good for anyone with mobility issues unfortunately.
