“The quickly forgotten restaurant”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

There were not many places to dine at during the evening of September 29th.in fact we only found this place.
Not impressed by the tired decor or the lack of table clothes. The staff seemed too keen to take our order but I don't know why as the place was empty.
Poppadoms are usually served hot and crispy not warm and floppy obviously pre cooked and warmed up here. The condiments provided are normally taken to the kitchen but in this case taken behind the bar and it looked like they were being 'topped up' !
For 'starters' I ordered chicken tandori. Some of the meat was too well cooked that it was hard and nearer the bone greyish in colour.Others in my party had vegetable pakora which consisted mainly of sweetcorn and carrott.Onion bhaji was also a choice but there seemed more batter than onion.Normally they are crispy but here they were rather flat.
Main courses were varities of chicken dishes .All the dishes consisted of chicken that had a different sauce poured over, there was no flavour to the actual meat which there would have been had meat been cooked in the suace. As a side dish Tarka Dall was ordered and this was fairly good, thick in texture but lacked a hint of garlic.
Generally compared to other restaurants that we use this is poor.I cannot believe some of the other write ups and 'photos The size of portions were fair to good.Beer was good but then not too much can go wrong.

“Lovely takeaway but could have been quicker!”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

Were on holiday & wanted to get a takeaway to eat back at our caravan. My husband had eaten here earlier in the year whilst he was walking the SW coast path. He ordered our meal and was told to come back in 30 minutes. We went back after 30 minutes and had to wait approximately a further 15 minutes for them to bring it out to us.

Me and my fiancee had a meal here as we wanted a curry and it seemed to be the only Indian we could see. The venue its self is OK,staff very help full'my fiancee really enjoyed her food whereas mine I ordered was ment to be madras hot but was no where near madras hot and also the kingfisher lager was flat, other than that average Indian but the staff were spot on.

“Not good, one of our party was ill afterwards”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

Ordered a takeaway for 3, jalfrezi had very thin brown tasteless sauce (more like gravy)
the poorest one ive ever had apart from a supermarket.
One of our party had a couple of very large pieces of chicken in his dish he
did not eat them as inside they just looked a bit raw pink in places.
Next day he was very ill with diarrhoea and stomach cramps which lasted for 24 hours,
this left him with a very dodgy stomach for the rest of the week! Will never use again for a curry.
