There were not many places to dine at during the evening of September 29th.in fact we only found this place.
Not impressed by the tired decor or the lack of table clothes. The staff seemed too keen to take our order but I don't know why as the place was empty.
Poppadoms are usually served hot and crispy not warm and floppy obviously pre cooked and warmed up here. The condiments provided are normally taken to the kitchen but in this case taken behind the bar and it looked like they were being 'topped up' !
For 'starters' I ordered chicken tandori. Some of the meat was too well cooked that it was hard and nearer the bone greyish in colour.Others in my party had vegetable pakora which consisted mainly of sweetcorn and carrott.Onion bhaji was also a choice but there seemed more batter than onion.Normally they are crispy but here they were rather flat.
Main courses were varities of chicken dishes .All the dishes consisted of chicken that had a different sauce poured over, there was no flavour to the actual meat which there would have been had meat been cooked in the suace. As a side dish Tarka Dall was ordered and this was fairly good, thick in texture but lacked a hint of garlic.
Generally compared to other restaurants that we use this is poor.I cannot believe some of the other write ups and 'photos The size of portions were fair to good.Beer was good but then not too much can go wrong.
