“Long Weekend in Brixham”

My Daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Shoalstone Hotel. The hospitality in the hotel was welcoming and the breakfast was delicious and filling. The views from the sitting room and our bedroom was spectacular. Will definitely be staying again and would highly recommend it to others.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights stay at Shoalstone! Room 5 in particular has a lovely sea view though it was a little small for us as we had a large luggage. Their sitting and dining rooms have fabulous views too! Gabriel & Suzie are such friendly hosts who provided great English breakfast with yummy bacon grilled to perfection! Poached eggs were perfect too and not forgetting Suzie's lovely home-made marmalade! There is a bus stop just opposite the hotel but we didn't use it. The walk to the marina, harbour and town takes just about 15mins at most. Berry Head is close by and also walkable. Wish we could have stayed a little longer!

We enjoyed our stay at the Shoalstone Hotel in Brixham. A cosy house with excellent views of the bay - just what we wanted! Conveniently located to the fishing port and also to pleasant walks along the coast. Parking is available on site. We enjoyed our breakfast chats with Gabriel and Susie in the pleasant dining room. We were made to feel at home. We will certainly return for another stay when we are in the area. High standards of catering and cleanliness - good location and views make for the perfect holiday break.

This was our second stay at the Shoalstone and although we knew it had changed hands in April
we we so impressed on our last visit with the location that we were not going to be put off
Our expections were more than satisfied by the new owners Gabriel and Susan who have maintained the same excellent standards as before.Breakfast as ever was substantial with a good varied menu which left you ready for the joys of Brixham and the area.
The new owners were very helpful and friendly and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel which has rooms which are comfortable clean and well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our break

Room Tip: Ask for room 5 which has an excellent view of the sea

Our second stay this year and following many years of Sue & Gordon's stewardship, we've found that the Shoalstone is still in good hands. Gabriel & Suzie have done really well in just six months despite having no previous experience. Their energy, enthusiasm and friendliness has carried them through a challenging summer.

Having never met them before, we wondered how things would work out but as previous reviews have shown, the high standards of good breakfasts and cleanliness remain.

We look forward to staying there again next year and seeing what has been achieved over the winter break.
