A very pretty harbour and a photographers dream. Spoiled really with rubbish floating in the water and over flowing bins with chip papers everywhere. A bit crowded when we went as it was the height of the season. A bit dodgy with the traffic mingling in with the crowds.

Pretty little town with some nice shops, eateries and beaches.Cost £2 for a return on the boat which took half hour each way.

Brixham will be forever famed as the home of the biggest pasty we have ever found. 2 of us shared it from our seat on the breakwater, and it was delicious. The seagulls didn't stalk us too much. But unfortunately, I can't find the shop on here; the sign said Harbour's Edge Harbour Bites and they did pasties, sandwiches and drinks to take away.

We were already planning on an ice cream when we accidentally passed the Breakwater Bay Ice Cream Company, advertising it's Movenpick wares by the waterside. Who could resist?! There was a good selection of flavours available and nothing on the advertising board was unavailable. Connoisseurs might be interested to hear that whilst those getting 1 scoop found it a little bit stingy, those of getting 2 scoops were very impressed with the quantity for the price! 1 scoop was £2.00 but for just 50p more you could have a second scoop.

we had excellent weather so we were able to do boat trips to torquay and dartmouth cruise tour, which was very intersting with the history.

It is in between 3 and 4 stars. It is quite a nice port but not as pretty or atmospheric as other Devon and Cornwall ports. For instance, Dartmouth has a lot more character.

What makes the trip to Brixham is the ferry ride across the bay from Torquay and the walk to Berry Head with its history and great views.
