“Excellent stay”

We were greeted by Paul on arrival which was very nice, after showing us to our room he told us about brixham, Torquay and Dartmouth and the best places to visit and eat and drink. The breakfast is lovely with plenty to choose from, the guest house is absolutely spotless and our view over the harbour was fantastic.

We booked to stay at this guest house as it had rave reviews on trip advisor. We were only staying for one night on our way through to Plymouth. My husband doesn't particularly like staying in B&B's but I convinced him it would be ok. I booked a small double at a cost of £70.00. I have to say I was shocked at how small the room was. It was like the roads single track with passing places. However, it was very well decorated and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately we did not have a good nights sleep as the mattress was having trouble with its springs!!! I did report this to the owner before we left. He said it was the first time anyone had mentioned it. Hopefully this has now been resolved. There were lovely touches with mints on the bed. Breakfast was lovely although it was very hot in the dining room. For once the British weather was hot! We just are not used to it. We opened the windows and this did help with the temperature. Paul and Rita do a good job keeping the place nice but I think I will have to be careful in future when I am told a small double. I am obviously out of touch with the B&B world.

Hi Sandra
Yes we have replaced the mattress as you suggested. We do advertise that room as a
Small Double (What more can I say) . We do have other rooms which are larger. Thank you for the nice comments on our cleanliness and the little extra touches.

Best wishes Paul and Rita....

We have just returned from a three day break at this fabulous guest house, this was our second year and we would not stay anywhere else in the town.
Paul and Rita gave us a wonderful welcome and the accommodation is as spotless as can be,they both work extremely hard to provide a top class bed and breakfast. The breakfast is better than any we have had in some good class hotels, being cooked to order, piping hot and well presented.
Paul and Rita are lovely people and deserve all the accolades they get for their wonderful
establishment.

We have no hesitation in recommending this lovely guest house,it must be hard to beat.

Room Tip: Room no.4 for the view

Greeted by Paul, who was both friendly & very knowledgable of the local area, we were shown the garden chalet that we had booked. It suited us perfectly, self-catering for cooking our evening meals but with the added benefit of having breakfast cooked for us in the house with the other guests. It's a very central spot, albeit a steep climb, but we found most of the area to be a hard walk with the pushchair so not a criticism of the B&B. Plenty to do in Brixham, just ask Paul who will be more than happy to help. We would recommend the chalet if, like us, you like to take your dog with you on holiday! Many thanks Paul & Rita for a great weekend break.

Stayed 4 nights from 20th May. Paul & Rita were very welcoming, the room spotless. Plenty of fruit and cereal to enjoy whilst our breakfast was cooked fresh (and piping hot). It was good to have car parking there, albeit down a steep slope - but where isn't on a slope in Brixham! Loved the small fridge in the room so we could enjoy a chilled glass of wine before going off out in the evenings.

Everything was exactly as described and expected which is a first for us, excellent in every respect. The owners have a very effective professional approach to everything. Bit of a climb back from the town but I managed it ok in spite of just recovering from a serious successful cancer operation and at 76 my reliance on my trusty walking stick so don't let any comments on the climb put you off.
We are caravaners normaly so where delighted to find such a great dog friendly home for four nights.

Stayed at Woodlands for four days from 20th May.
House and room were spotlessly clean and it is obvious Paul and Rita take pride in everything about their house.
The breakfast is freshly cooked to order and there is never any danger of anything being cold as the plates are always hot - superb food
Paul and Rita are lovely people and couldn't be more obliging.
Paul chats with everyone and if there are any matters connected with pubs or restaurants in the area he will comment on the standards and service you can usually expect.
