After a long walk on the beach, we headed to the Sloop for lunch. The crab sandwiches immediately grabbed our attention and did not disappoint. Big comfy sofas and a bone warming fire meant that we were very cosy and all of us struggled to continue the day's wanderings.

Came here for lunch before we hit the coast path and were very pleased with the food. One of us had gravadlax and beetroot coleslaw and salad, very good, simply but well prepared (might have benefitted from a little bread). The other had grilled whole mackerel which was delicious, falling off the bone, and came with generous pot of chips and generous pot of salad. Chips especially good. Difficult to ask for better!

An extremely popular place to eat Sunday lunch! My wife and I were very lucky to get a table and only managed to do so thanks to a 'no show' by someone who had reserved a table for two. The very friendly landlord seemed to take pity on us! We settled in with a pint and a glass of dry white wine anticipating a long wait for our roast. Luckily the food came relatively quickly. The roast beef was lovely and rare (that's the only way they do it here) but strangely lacked the expected taste. The Yorkshire Pudding wasn't crispy and had an over-eggy, flan-like consistency. The roast potatoes and the rest of the vegetables were fine. The roast pork on the next table looked fantastic. Service was excellent, friendly and calm. This is a genuinely family/child/dog friendly characterful place with wonderful beaches to stroll on before or after your meal. We will certainly go here again and look forward to trying more of the varied menu.

Perfect after a walk along Bantham beach. Lovely wood burner helped create a cosy atmosphere. We just had a cheese sandwich with salad and chips. Nicely presented and arrived reasonably quickly. Friendly efficient staff.
We dont have a dog but its obviously dog friendly.

The best crab sandwich we have had for a long time. Full of fresh crabmeat, not padded out with anything. Lovely green salad, glass of Sauvignon blanc and a side Oder of chips !! Perfect lunch on a cold blustery day. The staff are very efficient, the beers are great and the whole atmosphere is good

Came here for lunch as we have been pleased with the food here in the past. It was very windy and intermittently wet on Bantham Beach but the wildness is impressive. Pub was quiet but cosy with friendly and solicitous staff. One of us had scampi, chips and peas – generous helping although it is not cheap here but it was well cooked and exactly what I wanted. One of us had vegetarian option (butternut squash) which was excellent. Recommend
