A lovely getaway for 1 or 2 people. Well appointed lodge with mega comfy bed! Stunning views and lovely area. Will definitely be back!

“Fantastic retreat”
Reviewed September 29, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We went for 2 nights as a getaway for our 2nd wedding anniversary and we could not have been happier. The weather was pretty wet but it didn't matter as all we wanted to do was relax and do nothing. Tim was a great host showing us around on Friday evening and watching the sunset is a sight you wont forget. The Sloop Inn we couldn't rate highly enough, the food was brilliant but we advise you to book a table as the locals and visitors know how good it is and how helpful the staff are.

Not a great welcome from the village shop and we felt sorry for the waiting staff as they were not treated the best by the owner.

We recommend this holiday getaway to anyone who wants to get away from it all, just hope it doesn't get too popular to stop us going back!

We have doubled the size of the Sunset Deck now ,so even better views to Salcombe, Hope Cove and the Island.

“Chill ax”
Reviewed August 10, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

The photos when we got back said it all - Sitting on the decking reading, sitting on the deck drinking, sitting on the beach reading and relaxing. The walks along coastal paths were great as we were able to soak up the sun and gentle sea breeze in equal measure. The views were tremendous, particularly the hotel on Burgh Island - I'll definitely have to watch the Poirot filmed there again now.

Sunset Lodge itself was well kitted out and the bed was super comfy. The shower was a bit weak when it came to hot water though. All in all a great week for the two of us and dog!

“Sunset Lodge Bantham”
Reviewed July 22, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

My husband and I have just come back from a week's holiday at the Sunset Lodge. The Lodge was everything we had hoped for. Very quiet and secluded it had everything we needed for a week's chilling out. It has a wonderful view down over Burgh Island and with the outside table and raised bench we were able to sit,eat and gaze just drinking it all in. Brilliant weather too which always helps! Tim and Helen were extremely helpful and charming. A total gem of a place!

“Relax and Refresh”
Reviewed June 3, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

The property is ideal for a relaxing and refreshing holiday with all that you require to either stay put and get away from it all or to have plenty of places to visit eat and catch up.
The owners are extremely helpful and are more than willing to recommend places to visit and eat etc. if you are unsure of the area and there is ample information also in the Lodge for ideas. Batham beach is excellent and if you want surfing etc. this is an ideal spot with a surf school also available. There are plenty of walks with some amazing watering holes along the way and the scenery is second to none! and again maps are available at the lodge.
