“Always good”
Reviewed February 2, 2013 via mobile

Le Nautique must be one of Guernsey's finest restaurants. If you are lucky, you get the table at the window overlooking the harbour with full view of the castle. The food is excellent and the service always very professional and friendly.

Who needs Michelin stars with food like this? Simple, no frills food but simply great! Some of the best fish anywhere here. Gunther, owner/chef just wont serve anything that is farmed, frozen or just not fresh and the flavour proves it. The Brill is just out of this world. Always ask if he has any Dover Sole? Good choice of meat too, including fantastic Chateaubriand. Alex, front of house ensures the service matches the quality of the food. A VERY friendly team.
Decor is somewhat dated and the bar a bit cramped but excellent views over the harbour across to the other Islands.

“Perfect for a special occasion”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

This restaurant has to be one of the best on the island. It isn't cheap but the food, service, presentation and atmosphere all make it worth the cost and perfect for a special occasion. Whether there is just two of you or a larger group, anyone is made to feel welcome!

My family and I often eat here for various celebrations and we are never dissapointed but I have to say we ate here last week and it surpassed all our expectations. Between us we've tried nearly everything on the menu and I don't think we've ever been dissapointed.

Just be aware that there is an old school chalm about this place so don't go expecting a modern minimilst cutting edge atmosphere...it's not that sort of place.

The only thing I would say is the portion sizes are very large but we'd rather that, then to not have enough to eat.

I would definitely recommend it!

“Wonderful!”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

Although we live in Guernsey we don't dine out like this all the time so haven't been for a while. The menu is reasonably priced for such wonderful cooked food done by a proper chef, who comes out at the end of your meal to have a chat. Everything about Nautique is quality and professional, we had a window seat so was able to enjoy the lights of st peter port and one
of our party commented on how the cheese was so fresh and easy to spread which makes us
think they make their own cheeses! All in all a wonderful meal. Not over priced.

“Return Fully Justified”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

Having reviewed this restaurant in October retrospectively, I now want to update it as we have just come back from the Island and revisited Le Nautique for a meal. It was superb. I have noticed that some reviews have found the service lacking. If you want to feel "fussed over" then this might not be the restaurant for you. But if you want the staff to be professional and unintrusive, this should be the eating place of choice. They don't butt in if you're talking, they are strategic in their timing. in my view they have got it absolutely right. Indulge !
