I visited this restaurant in winter, so admittedly not peak tourist season. There was only us and one other table present for the whole evening. As a result, service was impeccable - although perhaps we were a little 'over-served'! Food was divine, portion sizes were tiny, but surprisingly filling. The seafood was very fresh and the flavours were perfect. Presentation of the food was also amazing. Dessert was spectacular.
My only complaint would be that the portion sizes were a little too small, I could have done with a little more food, especially at the extortionate prices being paid for it.

Sunning views, superb food and first class service - dining here was a real joy. Expensive, but worth every penny. Highly recommended

The view from the restaurant is First Class. The food, quality of and presentation rival the view. The restaurant is formal but accommodates with a smile less than formal tourists. There were several locals dining and they dressed to the nines. It was fun watching the staff prepare some dishes at table side, they are first rate professionals. But the food is (to borrow an expression) "To Die For."

We took some friends here for dinner to say farewell as they were leaving the Island. Beautiful evening so we sat on the terrace for drinks. We had plenty of time to peruse the menu as we admired the view. Most of us opted for the set menu at £33. A good choice of seafood or meat though there is always a vegetarian option.
We were given a window table and I loved my starter of fresh local crab with a large king prawn accompanied by a selection of homemade bread. This was followed by local scallops on a small risotto. Superb! The locals know that the Fregate is famous for its deep fried courgettes which were as good as ever. I finished with a trio of desserts for pudding....a lovely selection. The service was excellent, as always, despite there being a large party in the separate conservatory.
This is not an inexpensive place to eat in the evenings but for quality food , great service and a lovely setting it still remains for me the top 'occasion' restaurant in Guernsey.

Visited this place for an evening meal and was not disappointed. Lovely venue overlooking St Peter Port. Bright, tastefully decorated room. Friendly, attentive staff but left to enjoy our meal. The food was beautifully presented, and perfectly cooked. Look at their web site for a sample menu. For a special meal out this is comes highly recommended.
