“Pavilioned in Splendour”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Superb service, delicious food, great value for money. The Pavilion Restaurant in the grounds of one of St Peter Port's big hotels is an absolute delight. My wife and I met up with ten other family members and we were splendidly hosted. We've heard that the head chef Tony Leck (?) is a big personality on the island and he certainly has the culinary expertise to show you why (even though I am sometimes put off by people with tatoos on their arms). I'd recommed ths place to one and all. The atmosphere is first-class, a sense of well-being.

“Rude manager”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

The manager of this venue was rude and extremely arrogant. Really spoiled an otherwise nice meal. He was a disgrace and is in need of serious training. We complained to the hotel. Honestly I wouldn't go there again based solely on his actions.

“Relaxed lunch”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

We decided to go out for a lunch as the weather was poor. This is a separately run restaurant within St. Pierre Park Hotel which has a health suite, so I had my nails done first which was a bonus. The restaurant is open all day, with morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea, although sandwiches are served all day. Unfortunately it only opens for dinner on Friday and Saturday. There is something on the menu for everyone, whether you want meat, fish or just a sandwich. There is also a play area in the grounds for the children and a lake if you feel like a walk afterwards.

“Afternoon tea - a joke”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

My family booked afternoon tea for me and them as a treat for taking them all on holiday. The service was poor, staff very offhand and hardly spoke to us at all. The tea was delivered within 3 minutes of ordering but then we had to wait 15 - 20 minutes for our food - we requested extra tea as we had already drunk the tea before the food due to the time difference in arrival of the two parts. As we like our tea quite weak we ordered hot water which arrived in 2 pots for 4 people and 4 teabags. We had our meal and then went to pay our bill - imagine our surprise to find that an additional £9 had been added to the meal for the extra tea - because as the member of staff pointed out quite abruptly - " it isn't unlimited tea sir!!!!" - not once during the meal did they come and ask if we were ok or if we needed anything else - my son had to go up and find a member of staff to request the additional tea!!! They were hardly busy - there was our family of 7 adults and one other couple - another family arrived later but they were hardly struggling to cope in that huge restaurant. We didn't eat all our cakes so had left them - I really felt like going back and asking for them and then taking them into the hotel and leaving them for the other guests. Afternoon tea was a joke and we would definitely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was the only poor experience we had during our stay at The St. Pierre hotel and during our 6 days on Guernsey and Herm where we found everyone to be so polite and friendly and the service we received everywhere we went was excellent.

“Lovely local produce, combined beautifully”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

This restaurant has moved to its new location at the St. Pierre Park hotel relatively recently and it well worth a visit.

They use locally sourced produce to create some twists on real culinary classics that look amazing and taste better. The venue is nice inside and you can dine in the sun outside also.Service is friendly, attentive and excellent.
