Once again my wife and I had a fantastic five nights stay at La Barbarie Hotel, St Martins, Guernsey.
The set menu and a la carte we ate were delicious. The service from all staff was friendly, prompt and efficient.
I was very impressed with the use of local produce in the day to day menus.
On visiting a Farmer's Market at Samourez Park I was delighted to hear how the hotel supported the local farming community by buying their produce. It came as no surprise that local farmers choose La Barbarie to eat!

We were visiting friends in the island and this was an ideal hotel for our needs. It is situated close to the cliff paths so we could walk during the day and visit our friends at night. The grounds are lovely with a pool and lovely flowers which are well kept. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are nice and clean with a very comfortable bed. I would certainly go back again.

Lovely location. An area of outstanding natural beauty. Ideal location for cliff walkers. The hotel's staff, accommodation and food exceed expectation on all levels. Guernsey's weather? not perfect as a rule but good enough have a memorable holiday. A big thank you to Andy and the team!

Room Tip: The refurbished/upgraded rooms overlooking the pool are large with air con .5*

Stayed here on route to a holiday on Sark. A well situated hotel in a country area on the road to Saints Bay. Friendly staff and nice restaurant with very good food. Near to Coastal path and on a bus route to St Peter Port. Room prices are more realistic than many of the hotels on the island.

We have been to La Barbarie many times now. We try hard to visit different parts of Europe each June - July but we adore Guernsey so much and love La Barbarie. Why?
Customers at this hotel are treated as individuals, the staff are sincere, nothing is ever too much trouble. The Managing Director is visible to all, ensuring standards are superb. Infact his philosophy should be bottled and sold!!!!!
The restaurant is first class. The staff working in the restaurant are highly trained and offer excellent service.
I will go back to this hotel again and again whilst it remains such a gem......

Room Tip: Overlooking the pool from a superior room

We spent two nights here in a very comfortable, well appointed room.
The location is quiet and peaceful, which we wanted. It's not too far from St Peter Port and is close to the airport.
It is close to the coastal path, a short section of which we explored taking with us two of the hotel's packed lunches.
The staff were friendly and accommodating.
The menu is excellent particularly for seafood.
We ate here both nights, the quality of the food is fantastic.
Book your table for the restaurant early as many locals eat here, particularly at weekends.
I would highly recommend this hotel to any of my friends and hope to return.

This is a true 'feelgood' place. Great staff, cozy and clean room, nice country hotel. Not close to city centre but that's no problem if you have a car. Restaurant menu could have had better vegetarian options though.
