This was our first visit to La Barbarie but it will not be our last. This Hotel delivers QUALITY. Service,Food,Comfort,Cleanliness and Overall Charm are Five Star. The Hotel is down a country lane not far from the coast, has a delightfull garden with a very inviting swimming pool.

Once again we have had another pleasurable stay at this little gem. Excellent food the chef is incredible, all staff are very well trained and polite at all times. We had one of the refurbished superior rooms with balcony and highly recommend these, they are spacious and very comfortable. If you are thinking of booking this hotel you won't be disappointed.

During my working life I stayed it many hotels. Some got some things right sometimes whilst others did not even manage that. It has taken me well into retirement to find an hotel which gets virtually everything right all the time. This was my second stay at La Barbarie and it confirmed that standards remain sky high.

The food was exceptional and the service "spot on" - efficient and friendly but unobtrusive with guests always addressed by name. The senior management have all been in post for several years and I am sure that this continuity reflects on the standards. We had a superior room which was well worth the supplement. It was spacious and very well equipped.

Sensibly priced, this hotel, and in particular its restaurant, well deserves its steady climb to the top rating. Congratulations.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a superior room and book on half board terms for a discount on dinner.

We stayed four nights not knowing what to expect, and found the food was excellent, very clean accommodation, friendly staff where nothing was too much trouble. The location was ideal with various walks close by. Having a car made access to the hotel easier. Would certainly recommend this hotel and have no hesitation in returning on our next trip. Our thanks go to the staff who made this trip very special. Well done Le Barbarie, see you again soon!

We stayed at the hotel just after Easter and it was bitterly cold. The welcome was warm though and some minor problems were readily sorted. A defective bed side light was replaced within a couple of minutes. Lack of heat in the radiator in the room was rectified within a half-hour. Less satisfactory was the unreliability of the hot water supply.
Our room was very stylishly furnished although somewhat small. There was a comfortable double bed (not king size) plus dressing table, built-in wardrobe, tea-making facilities, small flat screen TV mounted on the wall and two upright chairs. An easy chair would have been a distinct improvement. The small en-suite bathroom had corner bath with a shower over and a reasonable assortment of Duck Island toiletries.
The restaurant was a pleasant room seating possibly eighty covers. Each week there are three dinner menus: a la carte, set menu for £17.50 and early evening menu of main course and dessert for £12.95 but diners on this menu have to leave the table by 7.30 pm. We ate in the restaurant each evening of our stay and the food was consistently tasty, well cooked and nicely presented. The staff were consumately skilled. The only black mark was the poor quality coffee at the end of the meal. Once was enough.
The hotel is in a modern building (guess about 1960-built) but with a rather old-fashioned layout. We were told about pleasant summer days basking on the patio and dipping into the pool. Not for our visit with the temperature about 5C.

Room Tip: Premium rooms if you want a bit more space.

We have been visiting the island a few times a year for the past three years......this is by far one of the best stays ever. Hotel accommodation and food absolutely superb, wonderful staff especially Ravis. Well done La Barberie, we had a wonderful Easter break with you (including our family who joined us for the Seafood Extravaganza)!
