La Trelade was welcoming, comfortable, clean and an ideal base for exploring the island. The staff were exceptionally helpful throughout the hotel and the owner extremely friendly. We will be pleased to stay here again. For me a measure of a good organisation is also how it reacts to problems and La Trelade were so helpful, they warned us that their restaurant was closed the night we arrived for a private function but when we were disappointed as we were exhausted after an early start and a long day and did not want to go out, we were asked if we could eat early and order in advance, which we did. They found us a quiet table in a corner and we were so well looked after! The food was very welcome and well prepared. We had a problem with our room on the first night suffering from a low vibration from an electrical pump (?) somewhere in the hotel. On explaining this to the receptionist in the morning we were immediately moved without any fuss. I haven't rated the spa facilities as we did not us them.

Myself and a friend stayed in room 205 (twin) for 2 nights/3 days

Pros:
-Plentiful parking
-A 5 minute drive from the Airport and a 10-15 minute drive to St Peter Port
-Friendly welcome from Receptionist
-BBC Weather update (and free mints!) on Reception
-Numerous local attraction leaflets
-Clear signage
-Small lift to all floors
-Free WiFi throughout hotel. I used the Skype app on my iPhone to phone the UK as my mobile operator (EE) applies roaming charges to the Channel Islands.
-Orangery Restaurant - Breakfast (07:00-0930 Monday to Saturday, 08:00-10:00 Sunday), Lunch (12:00-14:30), Dinner (18:00-21:00)
-Hotel Bar - open 10:00-14:00 and 17:00-23:00.
-Health Suite attached to the Hotel includes a well-equipped Gym with separate weights and cardio areas and an indoor swimming pool with sun loungers.
-Room: Clean and well maintained with writing desk with several drawers, hair dryer, mirror, lamp, stool. Hotel information pack (with headed notepaper & envelopes). Multi-channel Sharp TV (including BBC1, BBC2, ITV, C4, 5, ITV2, CBBC, BBC News and some radio stations) atop 3-drawer cabinet. Bin. Portable fan. Small cabinet containing tea/coffee making facilities. Upholstered chair. Twin beds each with a large wooden headboard, a bedside lamp and a cabinet. Telephone. Holy Bible. Portable heater. Storage area with hangars and an extra duvet. Spacious en suite bathroom with shower-bath.
-Iron & ironing boards available from Reception.
-Safety deposit box available at Reception.

Cons:
-A couple of steps down to Reception
-No card key entry - one key for front door and one key for room
-New bathroom, carpets and bedding. However room furniture a little tired - well-maintained, but could do with modernising.

Notes:
-Take the 7 (clockwise route) or 7a (anti-clockwise route) public bus for a 90 minute non-guided tour of the island. Cost = £1.
-If you hire a car I'd recommend paying the extra for insurance, as the roads are narrow and there plenty of kerbs.

On a one week stay, we chose half board. The hotel is excellently placed, although to be fair, Guernsey is not a large island so most hotels are probably well placed. Large car park with ample space. Friendly stall who are very helpful. Plenty of choice from the evening menu. Every choice so far has been faultless. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff , very clean , good breakfast , warm room , clean bathroom , superb bed , nice and large indoor swimmingpool,
moaners are probably negative people and should avoid good places like this , perfection is in heaven and this hotel is not far away from it, the only point that I could find is the constant light noise from airco or maybe the pumpsystem from the swimmingpool , but you can hear this only at silent nights . Rooms where nice and warm in this cold almost freezing februari , shower was nice hot . Dancers are welcome in a big and beautifull ballroom with good and friendly instructors on a lovely wooden ballroom dancefloor .to me it was nearly a perfect stay , I come back here for sure !

Room Tip: first floor not left side because of constant light noise at night of the swimmimgpool waterpumpsystem ask for the other rooms for a silent sleep > it didn,t disturb me but people that are very sensible could be annoyed at night , especially as Guernsey is a very silent place at night and one can hear everything disturbing the silence Beds are perfect , I have a Hernia back and had no sleeping problems at all .
