The Sunnydene Hotel, is a lovely place to stay,Betty and Tony and their staff were very friendly and hard working. Our room was very clean ,bed comfy and breakfast was excelllent. The hotel is situated ,in a very pleasant area, and the bus stop outside was really handy. We had a brilliant time and we will stay their again without a doubt.

My family and I had a wonderful, relaxing holiday at Sunnydene in July 2012. Tony and Betty were warm and welcoming, and as other reviewers have commented, nothing is too much trouble for them. I promised Betty an excellent Tripadvisor review if she asked chef to put bakewell tart on the dessert menu again later in the week, and she duly obliged! Staff are friendly and helpful, and we had a cosy room overlooking the swimming pool/garden. The location in St Martins is great, tucked away off the main road, but sufficiently close to all of the island's amenities and St Peter Port. The bus stops on the other side of the road for total convenience. We really couldn't have asked for more from our week at Sunnydene.

My wife and i had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel with other family members which made it even more special. From the moment we arrived nothing was to much trouble for Betty and Tony and all of their lovely staff. The breakfast menu was fantastic and i can highly reccomend the full English or the kippers and poached eggs. The dinner menu was excellent and changed every night and we all ate and enjoyed very much every meal that was placed in front of us, if you are going to stay here book half board it is really worth it. We enjoyed a swim in the pool and playing the occasional round on the 18 hole putting green. Our romm was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, the added bonus was we stayed at the end of July and we were so fortunate to enjoy the five fantastic days of our summer. Whilst Betty and Tony cant guarrantee the weather they can guarrantee you a wonderful stay in their lovely, customer focused hotel, we would definately return.

The owners and staff were the stars of this hotel. The food was first class - freshly cooked breakfasts and an excellent choice on the dinner menu EVERY night which considering the iffey weather made eating in the hotel the best option. HOWEVER - our garden room was dark and badly needed refurbishing. The bathroom was quite poor. And unfortunately, the walkway along the garden rooms are used for people who like to have a smoke - so it also smelled of cigarette smoke unless we kept the windows closed. It's the only reason it didn't get 5 stars.

This was our second visit to the Sunnydene but it certainly won't be our last. we went for 10days and before we arrived I'd e-mailed to ask for blankets instead of the usual duvet. No Problem was the response and the moment we arrived to be greeted by Betty as welcolme friends she said that it had been done ready
. Food was great, we had booked B&B but asked for half board afor part of the stay as my sister-in-law and her husband were joining us and his back is bad so we didn't want to be gadding about looking for meals. again no problem just tell them what nights we wanted to eat in and it would be done. Food excellent both morning and evening and every thing is fresh.
The rooms are clean and fresh and the best supplied basket of tea, coffee , drinking chocolate and sugar I've ever seen in a hotel.
Nothing is ever too much trouble for Tony, Betty or any of the staff wether in the dining room, bedrooms or the bar .

Room Tip: Get a bus card and use the local transport, leave the car behind. If you buy a £25 top up on the card a single journey will only cost 50p and it doesn't matter how many of you use it. There were 4 of us using mine.
