“excellent camp site”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

on arrival at the campsite we were given a pleasant welcome and a map of the site with vacant plots marked, we walked the site and chose our pitch, a good size pitch with water and electric close by. The toilets were always clean even though the site was busy, always toilet paper available. The showers in the ladies are small but adequate, there was plenty of hot water. A shower was available for children, a larger room with a shower at a lower level, very popular. Washing up sinks were under cover but outside, well lit and again always hot water. Access to the ladies toilets is through the washing/ironing room so the washroom was always used by women. Washers and driers were available, 2 irons and ironing boards. Hairdriers ( 2 ) were available in the laundry room and there was plenty of shelf space for hair dryers and straighteners etc. The washrooms had plenty of mirrors and good lighting. The shop was open from 8 til 8 but most nights it was open later, the shop was well stocked, bottles of lager were £1 each, lots of reasonable priced goods. A marquee was set up and a tv was available for anyone wanting to watch the olympics, very popular at night. Free wi fi was available on the decking outside the shop and this was very popular for emails, Facebook etc. The animals were a popular attraction, the pigs were great and the chickens were always looking for bread, everyone fed them left over scraps and a few hens wandered around the site pecking around the doorways to tents. Everyone quietened down by 10.30 so it was quiet at night.
A good clean site with easy access to the main road for the ferry and airport. The roads on the island are very narrow, driving is slow but a great place to explore, the owners of the site were very helpful recommending places to visit and pubs to go to.

We were a party of 5 taking our own tents to stay at Fauxquets for 10 days. On arrival we were very pleased with the look of the site and the facilities for camping. Roland and Teresa are a lovely couple and couldn't have been more helpful. They let you choose where you want to pitch your tent and then mow the grass before you pitch - a nice touch. They have lots of information and a good shop with the very popular breakfast orders of Croissants proving a hit with us!
There was a Pizza van that came round every couple of nights and nice food available at the Haybarn with free board games thrown in. The facilities are very good with plenty of showers etc all clean and available. One top feature was the Olympics coverage which was shown on a big screen next to the reception area and got big crowds at popular times.
We told the owners we will definitely return.

We booked our holiday back in January & as we all know the weather this summer has been awful. However we arrived bright!! and very early in to Guernsey to wall to wall sun! And thats how it stayed for our first week, second wasnt as warm but didnt stop us getting about and seeing what the island has to offer.
We received a warm welcome from Rol & T, they were very nice and had allowed us to have our pre erected tents from 8am, which was great as we had been on the 4am crossing from Poole. We stayed on pitch 71, it was ideally situated for us as it was not too far from the toilets & showers, or not in the busy part down by the pool area. We have a 2 year old daugther, who fell in love with the animals on the small holding there! It was a morning ritual for her & daddy to don, sunhats & wellies and go of in their Pj's to check on them!

The campsite shop is well stocked and does lovely pastries & bread in the morning that you can order ahead if you want to. My only critsim is that although there was a family bathroom, that didnt have a shower. Having last year stayed at a campsite that did have one, I found this harder fo us deal with at busy times when the mens & ladies were busy.

All in all we would & will stay again in the future as it is a really great camp site.

Returning from 6nts at this campsite in June. It's lovely, on arrival we were allowed to drive round and pick any free pitch. It wasn't school holidays so wasn't too busy. Everyone is friendly and the facilities are good. You can order fresh bead from the shop which stocks a few essentials. The weather wasn't great when we stayed but it didn't spoil our holiday. The campsite is central in guernsey in nice country side. The swimming pool is good and there are a few loungers to relax on. I imagine in busiest times this can get a little overcrowded. The only con would be the noise from the airport, but being such a small island I guess you can't escape it very well but saying that it didn't really bother us. Probalby wouldn't return soon as it was an expensive camping trip (ferry) and after 6 days had drove round the entire island many times... is lovely by the way!

Just returned from ten days at Fauxquets Valley, first time in cabin having previously gone in ready erected tents. Despite poor weather we found the facilities very good both on the site- shop and staff very helpful and in the cabin itself. This gave us the freedom that comes with camping but better facilities as we had our own shower/ toilet and kitchen in the cabin.
Don't be put off by the view you need a car - yes we did hire care but the on site Haybarn is open now and there is other facilities close by to get good meal (20 min walk)
This site has a great atmosphere and very family friendly - we will definitely be returning.

Fauxquets valley is right in the middle of Guernsey, and whilst that's great is not really near anywhere, so a driver is required if you want to eat out and drink. There's a Haybarn restaurant advertised on site, one of the reasons we booked, but we were told it is closed and nobody knows when it will reopen.
The campsite is well looked after and the facilitys are good, The staff are very helpful and there's a well stocked shop.
On the negitive side the showers (in the gents) are rubbish and your dry clothes will get wet due to no partition between the shower and dressing area and alarmingly are plumbed incorrectly, if your shower is too hot you need to turn it to hotter to cool it down and vice versa (somebody will get scalded), we also never really slept that well for 2 reasons,
1) the airport, which is only about 1.25 miles away is too noisy, the planes start at 6 till about 11 and fly every 15 mins or so.
2) when we were there (possible due to electric on pitches) dance music and party's in tents are not uncommon, you hear them more nights than you don't! As for the tv room 4 people would fill it.
Overall having read the reviews on this site I'm very disappointed but still enjoyed my stay at Fauxquets valley.

Room Tip: Thw XL pitches are not much bigger than the standard ones, do you really need to pay £5 per night ex...

I can say without fear of contradiction that the three weeks my family and i stayed at Fauxquets, both in 2010 and 2011, were just that, Totally fabulous. From the moment we arrived on the site to the time we left nothing was too much trouble, in fact i would go as far as to say that the owners and staff would go "above and beyond the call of duty". The facilities on site all first class from the reception and staff to the swimming pool, play areas, television room, pool room and the whole camp layout. ( and lets not forget the chickens and sheep ) The laundry area with washing machines and ironing facilities as well as showers and toilets are are all top notch and are kept spotless. We stayed in one of the many six man tents which had cooker, fridge all utensils beds and mattresses, interior light everything spotless.Cannot recommend this site enough, if you want the perfect camping holiday this is the place for you

Room Tip: If you want peace and quiet or fun and games this site offers both
