We very nearly missed this experience and so pleased we didn't!
As this was our first visit to a vineyard we didn't know what to expect and we were both pleasantly surprised.
Staff very friendly and Graham our guide very informative.
Our group was the first of the day and only 7 of us in total, we managed to see La Mare fudge being made, and we enjoyed the wine tasting, chocolate, fudge and apple brandy liquer, would recommend! Managed to purchase products at the airport to try at home.

We drove up to La Mare through some lovely countryside and there are some imposing and elegant houses to be seen - homes for the rich and famous. You should start your visit with the guided tour, which is full of interest as you wend you way through the vines, see how the various wines are made and then taste some of them.

La Mare is a tranquil place and it's worth taking the trouble to walk around the estate, through the vineyard and the orchards, since cider and apple brandy are also made here, as well as gin. The 18th century granite house at the centre of the estate is especially notable. Finally, there is a café where you can buy some decent food, accompanied of course by a glass or two of the La Mare wines.

It's a great day out.

This was our first visit to the vineyard for over 10 year and it was even better than our last visit.

We paid for the guided tour which was excellent. The free samples were delicious and the guide made the tour really interesting.

We had a meal in the restaurant which was fantastic. The quality of the food was very good and the prices were very reasonable. We discovered LaMare Jersey Ale which was delicious.

For anyone who visits Jersey, a visit to La Mare is essential.

Just by pure luck we arrived on the day which hosts not only the wine tour but a chocolate tour as well. We booked for both. Who can resist wine and chocolate? Both tours were informative, well delivered and interesting. The samples were really nice. Plenty of chocolate to try and a few samples of the wine. It's true that you are not given glasses full of the wines but then it's a tasting tour not a subsidised office party :-) We thought it was excellent value for money a clean and well presented place to visit with lovely staff..
