Attentive but discreet service. Just the place for a quiet break - the hotel is easy to find. Not suitable for young families because the beach is small and no swimming pool nearby. People with mobility problems will struggle. Fabulous food with daily choice of fish and vegetarian option. Afternoon tea on the terrace, which is included in the room rate, should not be missed. Can highly recommend.

Room Tip: Classic Rooms on top floor very quiet. Rooms well equipped - TV, drinks, toiletries, soft bath robe...

Returned to this hotel after 19 years to celebrate 20th wedding anniversary and was delighted by the standard of service from all the staff, the food and the rooms. Nothing was too much trouble for the politely efficient staff and it made for a relaxing and special 3 night break. The room was large and well equiped (only one gripe, why have a CD/tape player these days? Ipod dock or similar please!) and the weather meant we could make full use of the balcony. The food was fantastic both in choice and execution, complimented by a good range of wines and spirits. The location menas that there is no traffic noise at all, just the gentle splash of water in the fountain out front and the wind in the trees. Heaven!!

Room Tip: First floor rooms at the front are the best, Bluebell was large, bright and very comfortable.

I spent three nights here. This beautiful country house is tucked away amongst the unspoilt scenery, surrounded by five acres of terraced gardens which look down on to the picturesque Rozel Bay. There is not much space for car parking on the hotel level, but more than adequate overflow parking at the foot of some steps.

From the moment I arrived the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, I was made very welcome, enjoying a complimentary glass of port while I checked-in.

My room itself was a complete delight, individually furnished, en-suite with a jacuzzi bath plus shower, heating, hairdryer, trouser press, TV, radio alarm, telephone, soft towelling robe, mineral water and fruit basket.

There's a beautiful intimate panelled restaurant which serves a 6 course a la carte dinner every evening; drinks are served in the exquisite Rococo lounge prior to the meal. The friendly waiter provided excellent service and the food was to die for - the finest culinary delights created fresh to order by the Chef de Cuisine - seafood is something of a speciality. There is also an excellent, well chosen wine list which has something to suit all palates and budgets. The light and airy breakfast conservatory and terrace leading off from the dining room are also popular dining areas.

What makes Chateau La Chaire special though is the people that work there. Nothing is too much trouble.

Nestled on cliffside close to Rozel Bay, this small, four star hotel was the perfect place to wind down and relax. We were looked after by excellent, attentive yet discreet staff. The hotel is very different to the norm in that it is not a purpose built hotel, but a 'converted' chateau, and therefore offers considerable 'opulence' in the lounge/drawing room. Our bedrooms too were very individual and not at all 'boxy', tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Could not fault the attention to detail. We stayed on a b & b basis and the breakfasts were excellent. We did not dine at the hotel as we chose to sample other restaurants on the Island. The only drawback some travellers may find is that to reach the hotel from the car park you will have to climb a few stone stairs and sloping walkways, although there is some very limited parking at hotel level. Having said that, I have no doubt the staff would be more than willing to assist if you have any difficulties. If we get the chance, would definitely stay again.

This is our favourite hotel, we stay here regularly, so it was my first choice of venue when my other half proposed. My first thought was that it would be out of our price range, but you would be surprised at the price of the packages available. We were able to have exclusive use for the day and night. I cannot thank Susan, lukasz, fillipe, kasia, dragos (sorry if the spellings are not correct!) and all the other wonderful staff who worked tirelessly to make our day so special. We and our guests were treated superbly. The day ran like clockwork. The food was outstanding. We had just over 49 guests and they all said how superb the day was. Again thank you all so much for such a memorable day, wish we could do it again!

Room Tip: The superior rooms are spacious and have amazing bathrooms
