“Beuvelande Summer 2012”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

My family stayed here in our caravan for 12 nights in August 2012. Staff were realy helpful from booking in January through to arrival and our stay. The site is level and well run. There is a good shop providing the basics, and a bar / cafe. Toilets are kept very clean and the swimming pool was welcoming after a hot day.

We could not fault the site and would recommend it to both couples and families.

We asked for the "Directions to Site" in advance of our visit. They are well written, avoid the obvious (but tighter) route and a good idea if this is your first visit.

Hoping to return next year!

Just returned from two weeks at this lovely site. It was our first camping trip & we booked through Travelsmith, travelling to Jersey on the Condor. First of all, the Condor sailing was excellent, very efficient & I thouroughly recommend Club class, to make the journey more comfortable. It was a shock at first to see the tents all in a row & having to park your car in the car park. We thought that our car would be adjacant to the tent, but it wasn't a problem, there is adequate space between tents for bbq's & outdoor dining, if you are lucky to get the weather! We had a scorching week and plenty of sun between showers in the 2nd week. The tents are large & well equipped. The showerblock is very clean, plenty of hot water, with sockets to plug a hair dryer/straighteners in! The restaurant serves good food & the bar area has a large screen TV, where we watched the Olympic opening ceremony. Great atmosphere & has a large following of happy guests, who return year after year. Not much evening entertainment apart from Kareoke & Jersey Bob, but that is the attraction of this site, not commercialised, just a good old fashioned Family holiday. The Reps are excellent, they really work hard & nothing is too much trouble. Dan's knowledge of WW2 bunkers was brilliant, he guided us to areas we would never have ventured. The local village is within 15 mins walking distance, where you will find a cracking pub, serving excellent meals, a shop ,Church & Bus Stop. All in all, a beautiful setting & great people!!

Room Tip: Be aware that you are in the countryside & tents are not soundproof! Nature, Farmers & famil...

Just returned from a pleasurable stay at Beauvelande Camp Site, albeit slightly wet and windy! The campsite does not really cater for campers who bring their own tents, as there is no facility to freeze ice packs and no hair dryers in the ladies wash rooms. Everything seemed to be clean and well maintained, with plenty of hot water in the washrooms. The location was good with about a 15 minute walk to St Martins to catch the bus to St Helier. Recycling rubbish points were available but not for paper/cardboard, there was a aluminium can recycling point which we found on our last day. Pleasant friendly staff who would help if they could.

We stayed with Condor Breaks/Travelsmith and were very happy with our experience.

It was our first time camping and didn’t know what to expect on arrival. When we arrived we where greeted by the two Rep's Ann and Ruairi who were very helpful in showing us to our tent and making sure we had everything we needed.

Being new at camping we weren’t sure how to change the bottle of gas, Being embarrassed we asked Ruairi who didn’t hesitate to help us and made us feel at ease.

First class service.

The tent was laid out well and had all the equipment you needed for your stay they even had beds.

The Facilities were excellent overall, food in the restaurant was nice but a bit expensive and didn’t have a big menu.

They didn’t open for breakfast during our 10 days stay.

The shop was well stocked with your basics and gifts.

The only downfall was the television room which was situated in the play area and in close proximity to the pool so you can imagine the noise.

Overall we had a fantastic holiday and will definitely be back next year.

I was lucky to stay on Beuvelande most of the summer and became part of the entertainment team. What great evenings were had and so much family fun. Loved the time here and I have to say I have camped all over the world and feel very much at home here. Well done ALL the staff and can't wait for next season

This was our first time in Jersey and we booked with the site, having read a few reviews before leaving I was slightly dubious however........

The site was well kept, quite qiuet at night and the owners were wonderful. On arriving in the evening, having found our way through the green lanes and half the island the office had stayed open for us as they knew we would be a little later arriving, we were told where our tent was, but had to find everything else on our own, fresh water and washing up area were both very close, however the toilets were a little bit of a walk but this was not a problem as we had bought a camping loo with us.

The restaurant was open most evenings in the first week, but less the second week a it was end of season, the food was great if a little pricey, but for the money paid we were impressed with the portions and quality. Good service, well presented and outdoor seating was also available if you wanted to eat outside, undercover or otherwise.

Children had access to a swimming pool, play area(huge) and football field if they wanted, also a games room and afternoon activities some days, entertainment in the evenings varies from kareokee to bingo, live music, horse racing, bingo, quiz or bingo. To be honest, the entertainment could have been better organised as some evenings we had come in from a day out, and wandered up to Tilley's to see what was on only to find it was running late or was bingo.

Information we needed was readily to hand by asking at the site office/shop, parking tickets also available from the shop for the car parks. Wide range of supplies, freezer packs could be re-frozen at a cost per pack per night, which seemed a bit much considering they already were using the freezers for thier stock. Newspapers, fresh pastries and bread were also on sale every morning as well as freezer food, breakfast supplies, tinned foods, pastas and toiletries.

All in all a good experience but..

The tent we stayed in was at the end of its seond season and so was a bit tired but had everythingwe needed, roll mats and pillows provided, one light on electric and a fridge already in the tent. Howeer, if you wanted to do anything else, e.g charge a phone or camera you had to get an adaptor from the site office, this was difficult as they did not seem to have that many available at any time.

As a regular camper I was dissapointed by the lack of adherance to the site rules, dogs on leads, 5mph speed limit, but all in all it could have been worse (the dogs off lead could have peed on the tent etc.) and ther were, surprisingly, no accidents between children and the cars gonig a bit too quick.

We would visit Jersey again, would possibly use this site again depending on the time of year and barring any festivals as the Jersey Live festival was happening just at the end of our stay and whilst the owners took all precautions there is only so much that they could do with such a large site.

I wish them luck in business and hope that if we do go again it has improved as I belive it can with such ambitious owners!

Room Tip: Take your own unit if you can as you can then prety much choose where you pitch. TravelSmith units s...
