“Hard to beat in St Helier”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

Just returned to Surrey after staying here again for three nights whilst on our yearly Christmas shopping expedition. An excellent hotel for a business or short city break holiday. The staff are very professional, helpful and welcoming -yes even the Nordic ones now seem to have developed a sense of humour!!!!! The rooms are good with the harbour/marina views extra special (worth paying extra for this) especially seeing the waves crashing over the esplanade. Breakfasts are brilliant with a full range of hot and cold food available from the buffet bar - every imaginable item you could wish for. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and were impressed with the food, service and helpful staff. Unlike one reviewer we have found room service very quick and excellent food on previous occasions.
The point is that this hotel is excellent as a base for a business trip or city break type of holiday. It is just 5 mins walk to the centre of town, you have easy free parking if, like us you rent a car during your trip. It is just a lovely chill-out hotel to escape back to after being out all day. You know that you can expect a lovely clean room, excellent views, a good standard of food and excellent service. For a summer beach holiday base perhaps other hotels fit the bill (thinking those in St Brelades Bay) but having seen the competitors hotels in St Helier I reckon this comes out tops taking everything into account (free parking, less noise, views, price etc). Will be back again next year. Finally nice to see that there are a few more fish in the huge aquarium in the foyer.

Room Tip: Ask to be upgraded - business rooms are HUGE and come with coffee machine. Also well worth getting r...

Hi Jomodu, thank you so much for your amazing 5 star review! I’m so happy to see that you have had such a lovely stay with us and we would really love for you to come back and stay with us. You’re right too that we have more fish in the tank, we now have a budding family of various fish living happily together! We hope to see you again soon :)

This Raddison hotel is well situated on the waterfront next to the marina in St Hellier and is very central. It is good for business & holidays alike. The staff are very professional and make you feel welcome as a good hotel should. If you are on holiday you will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and bright and clean rooms. This is a well appointed hotel and I would recomend it to help make your stay in jersey just a little more enjoyable.

Room Tip: Try to book a sea view

An excellent hotel with very professional, polite staff and very good food.

Rooms comfortable and clean. Bed and bed linen were exceptionally comfortable.

Decor not always worth taking a picture of to show friends but the lobby is grand, with a huge fish tank which compliments the seaside/ marina location.

Well priced and would recommend to most.

Room Tip: You can choose a sea view room when booking, but a little more expensive.

Stayed here for three nights on business last week. Booked room with a sea view (actually marina) Cold day and the heating was not working, after two attempts by maintenance they moved me to a Business class room - cold but bigger and better view! Still non-working heating so complained again. They came, fiddled with the thermostat and once more came to the conclusion I would need to move. I, not unreasonably, asked if they could check the heating was working before I moved. They called some time later to say that they had found a problem in five rooms but upgraded me to a one bedroom suite with working heating. This was a lovely room, better views and as I was there for three nights I appreciated it. The guy on reception actually, after being rather cool, worked hard to make it work which I appreciated. After reading on this site the breakfast was very good I have to say for me it was only okay but my two nights of room service dinner were excellent and I appreciated a menu with gluten free options. Whilst the hotel is a little remote I had a hire car so this was not a problem and the nearby (walkable) cinema with ancillary eating complex is very useful

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are worth the extra unless you view a marina as a car park for boats!

Hi HonW, I'm very sorry to see that you experienced issues with the heating a few of the rooms that you were placed in but it's great to see that you were given one of our lovely suites! Our engineering team are looking in to the heating in the rooms and will make sure that these are all fixed shortly. I'm surprised to see that the breakfast didn't meet your expectations, however I understand that it won't be to everyone's taste but happy to see the room service menu was more suitable for you.
We are a 5 minute walk from town, which can seem a little out, however this does allow us to have the enviable views over the marina and St Aubins and the beach on our door step.
Thank you again for your review and we hope to welcome you back soon.

This hotel serves a purpose and serves it well. The rooms are well proportioned, very comfy beds, only let down is the bathrooms are quite small and feel slightly cluttered.

The lobby area is very impressive and grand, however once you get up onto the corridors with rooms it is not so grand.

We stayed on a room only basis and only ate in the hotel once which was room service - this order was delivered incorrectly, food was cold, taken back and re delivered with the right food but missing one dish- we told them not to worry but didn't expect to be charged - lo and behold we were charged and had to argue to have this cost removed.

Location of hotel is good, just a 10 min walk into st helier, and well located for the roads to drive further round the island.

Definitely recommend the hotel for being just that, particularly if you get a reasonable deal on price, just don't go expecting anything too special.

Hi Emma, many thanks for taking the time to leave your review on your recent stay with us. I'm happy to see that you have enjoyed your stay with us over all however I am sorry that you had a couple of issues with your room service order and that we were then charged for the item that never showed up. I will bring this up with the relevant departments to make sure this doesnt happen again.
It's great to see that you would recommend us and we hope that you will stay with us again soon.

Second time we have stayed here in as many years, it does what it says on the tin, it is a four star hotel which delivers four star services. The rooms are big with very comfortable beds and have all the facilities. It's an L shaped building, one side offers views towards St Aubin (we were on this side last time) and the either side offers views over Elizabeth harbour, this where they put the posh boats, and out towards Elizabeth castle (this the side we had this time). Staff are good and very professional, hotel is very clean and well maintained, definitely aimed at the business side of life and could be described as clinical. Breakfast is a buffet and is very good with every thing on offer, my only critisism is the evening restaurant menu is a little limited, which did stop us eating there.

Hi Colin,

Many thanks for your review, it's nice to see that you have come back to stay with us again and on this visit were given a room with a different view over looking Elizabeth Marina and Castle. Thank you for your lovely comments on our staff and the quality of our buffet breakfast as well as your feedback on our menu in the Waterfront Brasserie, which we will take to our Head Chef.

We hope you visit Jersey again soon and stay with us for a third time :)

Stayed for 2 nights at the end of November 2012. Nice large and comfy bedroom with slippers and fluffy bathrobe. Let down by tiny tv that wouldn't change channels, no water in the room, ice bucket but no obvious place to fill it, poor quality toiletries, no room service menu in room and a general air of complacency. (Flickering light in bathroom not fixed, heating only put on for a short time so room very cold, carpet not vaccumed and chef's salad was minus the salad!). On the good side there was a great 'real' coffee maker in the room as well as a kettle and the usual beverages and biscuits. The huge bed very comfy - except it was two singles joined and two single duvet covers. Cosy though.
Helpful reception staff but you need to order a taxi to go anywhere at this time of year as there are none nearby and this can take 15-20 mins to arrive. Nice view over the Marina and Elizabeth Castle. Although relatively new it is already starting to look tired in some areas - especially the toilet area in the Bar.
Worth a stay but will try somewhere else on the next business trip.

Hi Evie, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to see that the TV didn't work during your visit, this is rare and we will let our engineering team know of this to make sure that it doesn't happen again, as well as the issue with the light in the bathroom. I'm very sorry that there was no room service menu in your room either and will pass this on to our Housekeeping Team to make sure they check each room has a copy available.
I am glad to see that over all you had a comfortable stay with us and we do hope that on your next business (or leisure) trip to Jersey, you will choose to stay with us to give us another chance to wow you!
