Enjoyed my stay staff, however I booked a superior room and don't believe I got one.As a standard 3 star room it just passed muster as a superior room never. Not room for the limited furniture and very small shower,330 can not be classed as a superior room.
Plus points good breakfast ,friendly and attentive staff.

My first stay on Jersey but my husband's second (he went in 1961 when he was 5). Stayed at the Monterey 28/6 - 2/7/10. Definitely worth its three star status. The staff are excellent and very obliging. The hotel is very clean and well presented (not tired or dated as previously stated). It would benefit for having air-conditioning in bedrooms but we were supplied with an electric fan which was more than adequate. The breakfast was good and the dining room was very clean and pleasant. The outdoor pool area was good and the temperature of the water ambient. The indoor leisure centre was well equipped for the standard of the hotel. The location of the hotel is a little bit out of town but if you enjoy a 10 minute walk you will be in the main shopping area and 15 minutes will get you down to the coast - in saying this it is very well placed on a bus route which will take you down to Liberation Square giving transport access to all the island. We hired a car and toured the island - must recommend Plemont Bay and Greve de Lecq Bay for swimming and sunbathing. We also visited Mont Orgeuil Castle, Durrell Wildlife Park, German Tunnels, Elizabeth Castle, Gorey harbour, St Aubin Town and Harbour, St Brelade's Bay, St Helier Maritime Museum and the magnificent Occupation Tapestry, all of which were unmissable and, when a charge was applicable, very good value for money. The only slight blip was with the car hire; we hired an air-conditoned car but were delivered one without so please note that all A category cars do not necessarily come with air-conditioning. Howvver this was very efficiently rectified by AVIS with an upgrade free of charge.

This was our 3rd visit to this hotel. As usual the staff, facilities, food and general quality of the hotel were of a high standard, and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone. Thanks to all the staff for a fantastic holiday.

When we arrived my sister and I were greeted with a lovely gentleman at the desk. We found all the staff to be very friendly. We were booked in as half board and the food was really good and always a choice for the evening meal. As this hotel was at the end of the main road we could hear quite a bit of traffic most of the night. Only other fault was the distance from the town centre. We were not told this when we booked. (fault of our travel agent) But I still would go back and take ear plugs next time.

I use this hotel on a regular basis, about every 8 weeks for business. The staff are fantastic, always have smiles on their faces, even the housekeeping staff. As I stay here so often, I feel like "one of the family". The food is good homely food, no faffy stuff. Great choice and is always piping hot. Rooms are extremely comfortable. I always get a good nights sleep here. Looking forward to my next trip in August. I would highly recommend this hotel but I don't want to tell too many people otherwise I'll have difficulty getting a booking!!

stayed at the monterey with my mother for a three night break

booked a superior room, had a view of the ourdoor pool.

room was fine, all the usual facilities, tea/coffee making etc.

stayed on a half board basis, food was really good, choice of four starters, mains and desserts, plus cheese and biscuits then tea/coffee and mints.

thought the staff were excellent, couldnt do enough for you, even setting up a lap top for me to use on the morning of departure so i could check in on line.

would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. once 1 slight niggle - floors are very creaky, and as we were on the first floor, could hear every creak from the room above, but this is only a very minor criticism, and would not stop me from returning here. would just request a top floor next time.

bought an all day bus ticket for £6.50 and travelled aroung the island at our leisure, well worth it, even cheaper if you purchase a 3 day one.

a little note to end with, avoid an outing to the "shell garden" it is exactly that - someones garden and can be viewed in 5 minutes, a real disappointment

Myself and a couple of my friends stayed at this wonderful hotel. The staff and management where very approachable and so extremly friendly, they couldn't do enough for us. The rooms where bright, warm and comfortable which was so inviting. Another great thing about this hotel is that it is close to amenities which meant that we didn't have to get taxi's everywhere. The food was devine, melt in your mouth, i actualy miss their deserts and if you felt like you over ate, which we did, they have a swimming pool and a mini gym, FANTASTIC!!! The only bad thing was that we had to come back home.......Can't wait to get back!!!!!!

We appreciate the time that you have taken to review our hotel and for your appreciative comments. Thank you. Our catering is prepared freshly each day and we are passionate about the food that we produce at the hotel. Our head chef has been with us for many years and this provides us with the consistency and quality that our guests have the right to expect. We are pleased that you enjoyed the Monterey.
