“Breakfast Beauty”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

Apollo hotel is a lovely hotel with very friendly staff. The rooms are large and basic but everything you need for a few days away. For me the best part of the stay in this hotel was the breakfast - such a great choice of hot and cold items all cooked just perfect. Fresh fruit for the healthy people but pastries and tasty sausages for the not so conscious. Would recommend this place to anyone

The customer service was good and we found everyone to be friendly, but the hotel really needs modernising. It feels like nothing has been done to it in at least 30 years. The shower was just an attachment to the taps and came out cold, the bathroom tiles were cracked, bathroom door didn't shut properly, the room door lock seemed flimsy, we could hear the room next door snoring and on the last night they were having a blazing row, no WiFi in the rooms. Overall it really was not worth the around £90 a night I'd paid. Wouldn't stay here again.

The Apollo Hotel was an excellent choice. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help. The breakfast was excellent whether it was a Full English, fruit, yoghurt, croissants, rolls or cereals. We booked a basic room which was spotlessly clean but the bathroom was a little old fashion. The bed was very comfortable. We ate dinner in the Hotel on one occasion, there was plenty of choice and the food very good. There was an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and ample sun beds for those who needed them

Location is close walking distance to the town and St Helier sights. Slightly tired room and bathroom, no air con and hot in the bedroom given the warm weather, countered slightly by provision of a small fan. Excellent small pool and enclosed outdoor sunbathing / drinks area. Small but very useful car park (very little parking in the town). Really good breakfast. Didn't have dinner as we were out elsewhere every night, plenty of close restaurants. Would recommend the Funchal Paradise Portuguese at 68 La Colomberie.

From the very first interaction with the staff, we were made to feel so very welcome and shown all the places to visit, and recommendations of restaurants and just totally friendly. The hotel is looking a bit tired, particularly our bathroom which was that 70s colour orange sunburst (or something like that), but it all worked and was as clean as you would normally expect. Breakfast was good, and toast that was brought to you by the waiter rather than have to queue up for that toast machine that never toasts properly in any event. Plenty of choice for brekkie from all ingredients for a full english to cereals, fruit segments, yohurts, ham, cheese and croissants, and more. The staff make up for any deficiencies many times over and I would not hesitate to return there.

We had a mini-family reunion on Jersey, our first overseas, and fell in love with the island itself. The hotel was perfect for our trip. It was centrally located, not too close, but not far away that my older parents couldn't walk to town if they wanted to. Excellent service from the staff which made our stay that much more enjoyable. We never expected on returning to Jersey, but now can't envision not returning. We would most certainly stay at the Apollo next time.

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Apollo hotel. This is a fine what I would call proper hotel not new and full of plastic fittings and plastic people but down to earth guests and lovely staff who can't do enough for you . Yes the bathroom in our room was a bit dated but who goes on holiday to stay in the bathroom, the room was a good size and cleaned every day with plenty of storage space. their are two pools one inside with Jacuzzi which is heated and one outside not heated Brrrrr, didn't seem to bother the kids though. Breakfast is buffet style and the choice is excellent with the hot food all finest quality no cheap beans and sausages here their is also a large selection of cereal fruit and yogurts. Approx. 12 mins. from the bus station and 5 mins from town centre All in all an excellent stay.
