“Tthe warmest place in Britain" so go and enjoy everything the Grand has to offer!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013

I have just returned from a wonderful weekend at the Grand. As always the staff are just superb - they should be sent around the country giving demonstrations on how to treat guests!

Had a fantastic facial in the Spa and then a spray tan - if you have not had one I highly recommend it - I felt so healthy - thank you Chloe!

I had the best Mojito I have ever had on Friday night in the Champagne Lounge - the new Terrace is open and is looking stunning - the weather is out of everyone's hands but on Friday and Saturday it was beautiful and the Terrace was buzzing and looked great.

We had dinner in Tassili on the Saturday night - absolutely spectacular. The food is delicious, the service is so slick and professional - a truly enjoyable evening. If you want to eat there (and you really should) I would suggest you book at the time of your hotel booking as it does get full very quickly and you do not want to be disappointed.

Could mention every member of staff by name as they all make the stay at the Grand the enjoyable experience it is - but I would be here all night - but suffice to say if you ave not been to Jersey or the Grand I suggest you do - it is as the say "the warmest place in Britain" so go and enjoy everything the Grand has to offer!

Room Tip: It is hard to offer a tip because like all hotels if the rooms are booked they can't do anything...

Living in jersey I have been to this hotel a few times, I've stayed over (average rooms, tired spa, ok dinner but good breakfast), attended large parties here (poor food on both occasions), dined on their terrace (poor service, poor choice of food and badly cooked), and after going for afternoon tea a couple of weeks ago have decided not to give them any more chances, I'm always disappointed. They can never seem to get it together, I don't know how they got five stars, I've stayed in many five/four star hotels and the grand falls short by a long way. Four of us went for afternoon and as a five star hotel you expect them to get things right. They were not busy and yet they still couldnt get our pre ordered tea correct. We were firstly given just one tea stand, no explanation of the sandwiches or cakes, we had just started on the cold scones when a waiter arrives with another stand, no explanation as to why but when questioned they said that there had been some confusion in the kitchen! I was not happy they gave us a free glass of champagne as an apology but we still had to ask for more jam and cream and had to question what the cakes were.

Very good - clean rooms, friendly service. Lazy Sunday deal is excellent value.

Disappointments:
- spa is ok but note that you can not use the relaxing area (see pics on the net) unless you buy a treatment. In other words, you can use the pool, sauna, hot tub and steam room but there are no sun loungers to go and relax on
- music is too loud at breakfast and not very peaceful music
- they'd like you to buy spa products but you don't get to use them in the spa facilities nor in your bedroom. It's The White Company in the spa facilities and something random in the bedrooms

Overall ok but some reviews do overrate it in my opinion. A Marriott or Hilton is in the same league ... And I've seen better spa's

If spectacular sea views thrill your soul, check out this hotel - a fab base which overlooks St Aubin's Bay. This is a Victorian 4-star that has cleverly updated to a vivid, 21st-century interior, while keeping an atmosphere that whispers "special occasion". Service in its fine dining restaurant, Champagne bar and Espa spa is excellent, and though it's tempting to stay put, St Helier is only a few minutes walk away. The Terrace, the Grand Jersey's open-air restaurant with barbecue kitchen has a must-try Atlantic prawn and lemon mayo sandwich.

We stayed for a long weekend over 10th may 13th may. From arriving to departing it was an amazing time. Staff could not do enough for you. Upgraded room as we were celebrating our anniversary which was amazing. Sea view and park view fresh fruit in our room. Spa and pool facilities first class. Went to see the anton and Erin show on the Sunday night. Great to see they were staying at our hotel. After the show it was nice to have a bottle in the champagne bar and see them arrive back after the show and have some photos.
Restaurants close by to a high standard. Airport bus so convienant. A place we will return.
Thank you very much for a fantastic and enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Sea view or park view well worth it.

This hotel is wonderful. The quality of everything fantastic. The staff are the best i have ever come across. It is ideally situated for the ferry terminal, 5-10 min walk. Not far from the town centre with all its restaurants ,shops etc. My husband and I felt so welcome as did my 82 year old mum.I cannot praise this hotel enough. Just go, thats my advice and you will not be dissapointed.

Room Tip: we paid very little through Booking.com so did not have a view as such. This did not really matter a...

We have just spent a week at the hotel and can say It was one of the best we have ever stayed at.The staff were very attentive, Polite and could not do enough for you to make your stay very enjoyable. We stayed in a deluxe room with park view that also had a view over St Aubins bay. The room was very clean and comfortable with ample space and just loved the toiletries in the bath room. We were more than happy with breakfast which had a very varied selection. We will certainly be back if at all possible.
