“Lovely bar snacks and friendly but inattentive staff”
Reviewed April 18, 2012

Spent a lovely evening at the Grand. The food was great apart from sugar in the salt cellar?? The waiter was very bemused and apologetic and gave us free coffee. My niggle is the same one as previously. I sat and waited for 40 minutes and no one came to serve. In the end we went to the main reception and asked for service. This is a recurring problem which must be addressed at a hotel of this standard. When the food arrived it was good although a couple of glasses of champagne, a couple of cokes and some bar snacks cost just over £50.

Lovely hotel - fantastic staff and good food - had a lovely room over looking Elizabeth's Castle - staff couldn't be nicer even put some fruit in my room for my birthday with a card. Unfortunately the internet was down for the whole of our stay which was the only down point as had family and work to keep in touch with particularly for the birthday - missed talking to my grandchildren :(

Just returned from a few days at The Grand. What a lovely experience. Staff friendly, room super, breakfast very nice. Really appreciated the films on demand as it was pouring with rain when we arrived, so we were wet, tired after an early start and my husband was still recovering from the sea crossing, so we watched a film in the afternoon and this set us up for the rest of our break. I had some spa treatments, which made me feel pampered. Nice view of Elizabeth Castle from window of our room. An excellent holiday.

My mother and I stayed here for my 30th birthday treat, which we booked via a Groupon voucher. We originally booked in for February but we were unable to leave Southampton airport due to the bad fog in the Channel Islands which was so disappointing. However, the hotel were very understanding and moved our booking a month on and outside of the Groupon offer which was great news to us.
When we finally made it out to Jersey we were not disappointed and got to see some of the best weather they've seen in March!
The hotel upgraded us to the sea view room instead of the park view. We had a great view of the sea and some lovely sunset photos to prove it.
Location - very good, stones throw from the town for some shopping and right on the beach.
We had a lovely walk on the beach to St Aubins which took about 50 minutes and we found a great shop called ChiChi which my mum loved.
Hotel service - could not fault the service we received from the hotel, the staff are very friendly and cannot do any more to help your stay more enjoyable.
We ate in the Victorias which was a lovely meal and good value.
We also used the spa within the hotel and it seems you have to book far in advance to get treatments as they were fully booked over the weekend so make sure you book your treatments when you book the hotel or you may be disappointed. We both had facials, my mum a massage and I had a manicure and pedicure, all great treatments and the girls were friendly but professional.
To top it of we had afternoon teas before we left - make sure you do too!
The only negative for me was our room was slightly dusty, maybe where the room had not been used in the week it had gathered some dust? But as it was so sunny it was really noticeable not that it affected my stay. Other than that the hotel was very clean and the room very comfortable.
Thank you for a lovely long weekend away.

We have just returned from yet another wonderful stay at Grand Jersey. This was our third time at this hotel and again it didn't disappoint. We were welcomed back like old friends. All the staff here are friendly and attentive. Our room was sea facing with splendid views of Elizabeth Castle. The buffet breakfast could not be faulted. There was an extensive array of hot and cold delights, tea and coffee on tap, nothing was too much trouble.

Our only criticism was the holiday was over too quickly, a week wasn't enough!!!

We would like to thank Eamonn, Stephen, Hugo and all the staff for making our stay so memorable. The easter egg on Good Friday for our son was a lovely touch too.

Please be assured we will definitely be back very soon. Thank you.

Phil, Sarah and Christopher Scarrott - Worcestershire

PS - thank you so much for the birthday card, another lovely touch!!!

Not sure how this gets five stars. Wi fi has not worked since we arrived. Hotel reception unhelpful with their standard response to a problem as "there is nothing I can do". Food overpriced and under portioned. Rooms ok but dark with blanked out windows so you don't see the hotel services (unless you pay for a sea view of course).

Room Tip: Inland rooms are dark
